hey good afternoon more medic one today I've got the steel ms 260 on the bench this is the saw that replaced the Oh twenty six and today I'm going to be replacing the muffler this is a performance muffler from nwp and they've done some design changes to the muffler itself get a broker part here they've basically they've just enlarged the exhaust port hole in the muffler which is good I mean you can actually take the stock muffler and drill the hole the same size and you've got a performance muffler for what they're saying but it's actually got a welded nut back here with a bolt or a screw that holds on the spark arrestor and just a good little unit I'm going to put a link in the description below you can where you can buy this performance muffler for Euro 26 or ms 260 go ahead and take the old muffler off here and I'll show you why I'm replacing it once you get the two screws that hold the cover on off go ahead and remove this cover right here just cams up and out and I'll show you the differences you see right here that ear that tab of that cover is broken out from just years of use and that's basically the reason I'm replacing it but the stock muffler opening exhaust opening is quite a bit smaller and good to go go ahead and finish removing the mufflers just two more screws save your gaskets if they're the graphite gasket you can probably get by with it but I mean if it's excuse me the metal gaskets that you're fine those graphite gaskets that sometimes they use it's if you can use them again so let's just go ahead and bolt on the new muffler right here put your bolts started Gasquet first and then the metal stiffening plate just kind of get it up in there without the gaskets falling off take your tool and just get them started kind of leave everything loose now this is where a lot of people screw up what I want to do is start these screws right here first that'll help get everything kind of lined up then tighten your engine screws or your muffler to engine block screws they don't have to be just Superman tied either just get them snug and now you can back out the other screws here everything should be lined up take your new muffler cover cam it in there pop it in place I like that sure does fit good just cinch it down batteries are about a little my little rent you don't have to overdo it that's plenty that's plenty well we'll do a cold start we'll see how it sounds I hadn't cranked this saw in probably a month so we'll see how it does Chuck decoe valve pops off half-choked Dakota if you have any questions about how to replace the muffler on an MS 260 or Oh twenty six let me know more medic one have a great day
