I'll show you how to make an inclinometer Cut out the scale from the template. Poke a hole at the cross and slip a string through it. I glued the scale to card stock to make it stiffer. Tie a washer to the string so it can hang below the scale. Tape the scale to the bottom of a cardboard tube. Decide which end of the tube will be the far end. Cut four slits at the far end of the tube: at the top, bottom, left and right. Slip thread through the slits and tape it. Look through the tube at the object you want to measure. Pinch the string against the scale... ...and read the angle.
