Please explain how to use kdp cover creator (paperback series - part 2)

If you want to know how to design a cover
for your paperback book, we will see that in this video. but this is a second video in the 3 part series
of KDP Paperback Publishing. I suggest you watch the 1st one and then
come on to this one. Let's begin Hey guys, I am Arun from Tech Library TV and
today I am going to show you how to design a cover for your paperback book. We have 2 options to create the cover. #1 is by using the Cover Creator to make your
book cover where you can upload an image or use KDP's stock images. #2 is by directly uploading an already designed
PDF. First let's look at #2: to design your cover
outside of KDP, you must use your image editing software that can create HQ images. It must also export the finished file to a
HQ PDF file. KDP gives free templates in PNG and PDF format
for us to use and design our own covers. These templates should be used as layers to
create designs on top of it. Just ensure the guide layers and lines are
not displayed in the PDF output. Links to the templates are given in the show
notes below. Let's now look at the 1st option. Using Cover Creator Click on the button to Launch Cover Creator. Once the cover creator is launched, we will
get options to choose the colors, layout, and the font we want. Coming to colors - you could choose the color
scheme here or u can choose the primary color, secondary color and the text color from these
dropdowns in case you want to further customize these colours individually. Next, Select a Layout - once you select a
specific layout, check if the title, author name and subtitle are shown correctly. Finally, select a font that is clear and readable. Once done, SAVE. We then edit the elements of the back cover. Here's where you could add text on what your
book is about. This is often called as blurbs or synopsis. Also upload a clear author image that is of
atleast 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch). The barcode area should be left undisturbed
because that is where the ISBN will be placed on. Once done with the alterations, click on preview
button. if you are satisfied...click on save and submit. Building the cover might take a minute or
two. Once done, go ahead with 'BOOK PREVIEW'. The preview will take several minutes to create
as all the background checks on margins, gutter size, images will be done now before opening
up the book for your preview. Within the previewer, make changes as necessary
and click on the Approve button. Unless we APPROVE the layout and design, we
cannot proceed further to the Rights and Pricing screen. That's all it has to do about the COVER DESIGNING
USING COVER CREATOR. This completes the 2nd video in the 3 part series. I will see you again in the next video which is the final
part, where we will talk about Paperback rights and pricing
