hey guys so i've had quite a few requests from people asking me to do a video on how to make the little snuggle pouches which you've seen in my cage tour video so first of all before i do this video i just want to say that all the credit goes to erin's hamsters because of she originally thought of this idea and yeah basically i'm just making a video to show people how to make it to get the idea out there i guess on the internet um so all the credit goes to erin and i'll put a link down below in the description to her channel so you are going to need a pair of scissors a needle and thread um a strip of cardboard an old clean sock and some tape um now masking tape is the best to use but i don't have any so i'm just using some microporous tape because of that works pretty well so what you want to do is you want to get your sock and you want to cut it just here before the heel on the foot so i'm just going to go ahead and cut mine straight across that black line there so i've cut the sock and as you can see my cutting isn't that great but it's not really going to matter so for this you're going to be using this part of the sock so you can just throw that over to one side so what you want to do is take the sock and put it inside out because you are going to then need to sew this bottom bit so i'm just going to go ahead take my needle and thread and sew this really quickly so i've sewn the end of the sock and what you can do is if you have any fabric left um overhanging you can cut it if you want to but i tend not to do that because i always end up cutting the stitches so you then turn the sock the right way around and you should end up with a really neat stitch at the bottom so that's just what mine looks like it's not exactly the best and so next what you want to do is you just want to cut a strip of cardboard so because i am using a cardboard tube i've cut two strips so that i can stick them together and shape them into a circle so what you want to do is you just want to get your cardboard and shape it to make a opening for your little cuddle sack so this is a little opening which i've just made it's not perfect but it just needs to be sturdy so that it can hold the sock open so what you want to do is you just want to get this and place it inside the sock so it holds it open so you can see that i've placed the cardboard just inside the sock to hold it open and what you want to do is you want to leave a little bit of fabric at the top so you want to put the cardboard like a little bit down if you know what i mean just so that you can fold the card and fold the fabric over inside and then what you do with the overhanging fabric is you sew it down just so that the hamster can't get to the cardboard to chew it and it looks a little bit tidier when you sew the edges down so i'm just going to go ahead and do a real simple stitch and just sew this bit of fabric into place so this is what the cuddle sack should look like and this is the finished product so obviously these can't go in the washing machine because they have cardboard in them but they are really easy to make and they literally cost you nothing and it also means that you can now put all of those odd socks you have lying around the house to good juice so um that is just a real quick easy made hamster toy and it's just really great fun to make them it literally costs nothing and your pet will have hours of fun sleeping in their new little cuddle sack so yeah please go check out erin's channel because if she was the one who came up with this idea and it just deserves to be seen by more people hence why i've made the video so please go check out her channel and subscribe to her she is such an amazing youtuber and don't forget to comment rate subscribe thank you for watching bye
