there's been a spectacular crepe myrtle year the grains that we had this spring made them bloom beautifully but unfortunately though they've done what they're supposed to do they bloomed and now they produce fruit if we cut this fruit off these little pod we can make them bloom again later on this summer so you can see we've already got some pods here formed and they're little right hardball and then we've got also some new sprouts on the form on this tot oh great Myrtle that we have here all you need to do to make all the energy of the plant go from forming these seed which we don't not interested in seeing to the new blooms which we will have coming out on this particular sprout right here it just simply cut them back and this is the case for a lot of other things such as the Prada Barbados it makes a little seed pod it's true for the verbena that goes there that needs to be cut back now and sort of rebloom where gets cooler and also true for the Lantana so go ahead and cut your plants back cut these seed pods off and they'll bloom again and be pure for you just fall this is Jerry Parsons we'll take that card Extension Service the weekend garden
