hi it's Steve today we'd like to show you how to change a chopper assembly on your dishwasher it's a really easy job all we're going to need is a number 20 and a number 15 Torx screwdriver small flat blade screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers let me show you how we do it now before we begin this repair the first thing we'll need to do is to disconnect power to the dishwasher so locate your electrical panel turn off the appropriate breaker or remove the appropriate views so they learn ensured that we have no power to the dishwasher we're next going to open up our door remove any items on both bottom and upper racks and then we're going to remove the bottom rack and set it aside and to remove the upper rack we're going to just pull the racks slides forward locate the rack stop in the end of them and with your screwdriver we'll just depress that little tab and pop the rack stops up through and remove them we can then pull that upper rack completely out and set it aside and push the rail back into the tub after we remove the spray arm in this model we're just going to grasp the center nut turn the clockwise disengage the spray down from the center spray bearing remove it now next remove this manifold we're going to disattach it on this clip on the back as well as one on the ceiling just spread those clips just enough to release it once we have it released I just want to turn that clockwise put it up over the edge of the element then we cleared the locking device in the center of the pump here we lift it straight off and pull it over there and then take that center spray bearing out make sure that we don't misplace this where a washer that sits on top of that now with our number 20 Torx driver remove these four screws we'll lift that pump cover off it's a little stuck in there just gently pry in from one edge do you free it up and lift it off and set it aside so next we're going to remove this number 15 Torx screw that secures the cover for the chopper assembly we'll insert a flat blade screwdriver into this opening which one to pry that back a bit and that will release this cover we can lift it straight up and out now to remove that chopper take a pair of needle nose pliers will point in between the chopper blade and that screen where you will fall forward and just graph that tilt it slightly and lift it up now when installing the new chopper we'll take note that on that screen there are two flat sides and that will sit down into a couple of slots on that pump housing I found the easiest way to install that is to slide a pair of needle nose pliers in between the chopper blade and that screen now when the stalling they new chopper want to make sure that these flat sides line up go down into that proof and you can just rotate that blade enough that you just see motor and then we're ready to put the cover on if you mind this little slot will set on top of that screen and then reinstall the screw now put the cover on install four retaining screws that's cool install that Center spray arm bearing citizens the opening then take the manifold and position that over top of that set the spray arm bearing just set it into that corner to carefully line that up so that it will engage the hooks on the top of that pump rotate it counterclockwise and connect the clips that hold that manifold in place both at the back and at the top we can now reinstall our lower spray arm just sit it on top of that retaining nut then turn that counter clockwise next we'll reinstall that upper rack pull the rails out we'll start by engaging rear-wheel on one side partway into the rail do the same on the opposite side we have all four wheels in place now when installing these rack stops we'll put the fixed portion bottom set that into the opening press it down until the top portion snaps into place the same for both sides show their property engage reinstall the bottom rack we're now ready to reconnect the power and our repair is complete
