Please explain how to age galvanized steel with zinc solution

and we can take it to this point which it's been saying so just look like playing sheet metal or now we can make it look like true thing and here's one and they're all different every time we do one it'll always come out different but if you'll notice on your right this has been waxed so you've got a bit of a sheen to it we use clear wax okay see little scuffs and scratches does the same thing so it really has all the properties then the infamous stencil what we did with this we did the zinc solution and created the backlight home like that and then put a stencil on it and then put more zinc solution which darkened it and now we've got a two-tone effect so this would be great for you know backsplash ceiling tile this was done with the we use the written red line and then we came back we did the clear wax first and then it's got a little bit of dark flags just agent you know the lacquers it's gonna be real bright and shiny so she toned it down by putting a little bit of dark plaques on top of the clear so that it may be made it look a mess with one step instead of the lacquer you could use the base the Joe made with the mica powder leave the stencil on but I'll go over it with the very lightly with putty knife and get it peel it off and then you'd have a highlighted area same thing you can do the stencils after we put the stencil on we did this next solution let it dry then we come back and you can wax bobis pencil still on it buff it take the stencil off and it looks more than false this is not it's real simple it's another hardest part of it since you're not using stenciling it's no big deal even though it's water-based we're going to use gloves because it is a chemical reaction and it'll tend to turn turn your fingers plastic has to wear off instead of wash off first thing we'll do the simple green we want to clean it because it's gonna have some oil on it because keep it from rusting people ask and eat once you've done this can it be used outdoors yes rust it's just how metal is we'll get all that grace all and then we'll come back with some water she told you that the simple green has surfactants in it the fact it's just a fancy word it's kinda like think about Teflon you have a tendency to repel anything that gets on it so we want to rinse that off with water all that is just water and I don't have to have it completely dry because this is a water-based product so water it's not going to affected or some and we're going to try with the rag we're not going to use a paper towel because I don't want the textured pattern of the paper towel showing up drip dry I'm just gonna Pat it on think of it like a delayed paintbrush and the heavier you put it on the darker it'll get so notice how it's starting to change colors and notice there's some areas that are kind of reticulating where it's not really taking it what I'll do once I've gotten that vase where it's all starting to to darken up I'll actually go in I'll wipe and Pat what it does when I wipe it it kind of breaks it up and it forces those areas that didn't accept the solution to now accept it and it makes it go darker that's what we wanted to do we didn't want it to go darker we don't want it to go jet-black but we do want to go darker because when it dries it dries down much lighter so you can see how it's just starting to keep it darker when I sit in sections I'm gonna wipe and I'm gonna Pat is I don't want the small marks from the role of the wiping so I'll make sure I had all those swirl marks out again it's all about the natural I'm just kind of pulling my fault over I like to keep someone fresh area to fall so notice it's a very model that's not solid because when it dries that model will allow that light and dark gives us some more depth makes a little more interest if I'm doing a time like the one she showed your big gun I'll do it in sections I won't try to do the whole thing just at one time I'll work it in sections and just keep going until each area gets darker and then I'll move on to the next section basically all I want to do is get this dark enough where I don't see a lot of raw silver coming through so I would like to get it a little darker than this but due to time restraints a little stopped it at this point and just make up just a big fluffy ball and then pad do not want we're just patting it dry reason we don't pipe it is because if you wipe it when it dries you'll see the swirl marks from where you wipe did the time is fist it's not so much of time as it is the colour it's what I'm looking for is the colour and I don't want it jet black I want it mop it like that I probably wanted a little darker but again where we're dealing with a bit of a time restraint I'd rather give you guys more time because I've done this before then once I've got it for it's pat dry don't want to come back and wipe the drive questions then you can use a hairdryer you can use a fan you can let it air dry you can use an economical eco-friendly California hairdryer like I'm using see this is against your drive can you see where it's now and starting to see those little gray spots coming through continue to draw and I like to let it sit overnight before I wax it because I really want this reaction to have set up overnight and the wax we would use it'll be clear wax because I really don't want I don't want to change the color I want to kind of keep the color natural because if I use the light or the dark it's going to change the color the only reason I'd use dark is I'd use it after the clear just the dirt make it look a little more dirty more aged see how that start that's great Amy did a customers design client and the son who was about six years old he liked to draw pictures because his parents collected art so hey me did a whole wall and just big sheets she battled and we've done the zinc solution off and then did the rest of the room and the walls and burlap so it was a very very manly and he could put his drawings up with the magnet because you know magnets will stick to the sheet metal and it's always different each one doesn't matter if the same person does it and out of the same bottle it is always in two different tops color wise it may be greener just it's always a little different we call that organ we tell the customer but imma just like that yeah what you do is you measure it tell the sheet metal like that and just and then put some liquid nails or something on it and drop it right down and it'll appear and you can even do you've got a round top it's in a forty eight inches diameter he'll cut the circle and then he'll weld the band through the apron on it create the camp sheet metal fabricator if you look in the yellow pages or google yellow pages and just look under sheet metal fabricator and it'll give a list and you can call each one and this is 22 gauge because he'll ask you what thickness and so if it's the top we just do 22 gauge because it's not too light not too heavy it's just seen in with Friday's good price it seems to be what they normally would stop anyway and they usually bend the edge they don't that's right right if it's if it's a stronger the point is yeah they'll sell they'll weld the corners but if they're good you can look at that corner it's could you drill into that like I would like to grab a table and then do like grass upholstery tacks yeah be so much easier to do that yeah just take a draw take a chunk one and pop that chalk line you'll things a lot of those come in a band and they're all connected but every seventh one has hole so instead of here in Europe they go like this by doing each one in the middle of the ribbon thing you get a jar with the real stainless just nothing else will react and if you find an old watering can or no wash just make sure it doesn't have that clear coating you're ready to zinc so we're gonna do it
