on behalf of TV lesson calm my name is Paul Lewis I'm a professional puppeteer and puppet builder you know when you were a child and used to play with your toys and you would hold them in your hands and make them talk to each other if you had dolls or if you had little figurines you'd make them talk each other well puppetry is just an extension of that the difference is is that the puppets are able to move and the little toys are really not able to to move and and project moves and and different emotions and and and you know lip-sync dialogue now a little bit about lip sync sometimes when puppeteers put the puppet on they'll lip sync something like this hello my name is wrong again because if you were speaking like that in real life a human you would be speaking like this hmm so what you want to do is you want to open and close the characters your mouth upon every syllable and the way you would do that is again you will put your hand inside the puppets body bring the puppet up into frame hello how are you good to see you yes it is not hello how are you again open and closed on every syllable yes open and close on every syllable and that's how you operate a puppets head on behalf of TV lesson comm this has been Paul Lewis thank you for watching
