Please explain how to modify maternity clothes (leggings) - #pregnancy

I hope you're well now I am making this video to hopefully help somebody out there who went through or has been through always going through the same thing that I went through today which is when you're pregnant and you're not quite ready to fit into maternity clothes to try to squeeze yourself into your clothes and they just don't fit okay so in this video I'll be modifying a pair of leggings to make them into maternity leggings until I get to a point where can wear returning leggings okay so the background is I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant with second baby and although I'm nine weeks I'm showing already you know they do say that second pregnancies and subsequent pregnancies you start to show early they're not lying okay so watch this now normally I have a flat stomach so after my first baby four years ago my stomach went down with a lot of exercise and stuff and then now that lentil I call them lentil was about that big now that lentils on its way it's just expanding so these leggings are resized ate leggings from Primark and the reason why I'm quite happy to modify them and cut them up and stuff because they're quite cheap though inexpensive I'm probably not going to wear them again after the baby and I've got another eight months so six months left of pregnancy or seven months left of pregnancy and then probably two months after that I wasn't getting myself back into shape to wear them so I don't mind cutting them up so for this you'll need a pair of leggings it's ideal for you to be wearing them so that you know where to cut and you need a pair of scissors they don't have to be sort of cloth or fabric scissors but if they're sharp enough to do the job then then good so if you've got a little rose you get started or we can just watch me and then go and have a go later on so these leggings come up quite high on my waist sorry in advance sorry so yeah they come up quite high my waist there so what I'm going to do just cut them across at that angle so that my belly couldn't breathe freely because I'm one of these people I don't like the feeling of restriction so they'll let you know they fit me on the legs and all the ankles and stuff like that but they're quite restricted on on the baby bit so with my scissors I hope you can see I'm just literally going to cut the elastic less place to waste from one angle to the other now I'm not very good but with cutting of that to another pair and they works quite fine but what I also did I cut them in stages so I didn't just do one big swoop of a cut because if you muck it up then you can max it out so I do mean small bits to see how it gets along first so now that I've cut the elastic on that side it's quite funny because you can instantly feel the relief that it gives you only that little bit of difference but it it's quite relieving nevertheless never my lentil mummy won't cut you up okay and what this also does it avoids that mushroom top overspill look that you can get sometimes when you know you waistbands a bit tight and you put a top over it and you've got these bulges at the side so just by cutting it you've got that sort that freedom so they're always going to stay up because mom's gonna but you know and my bottom holds Bo and the leggings up but now just cut a little bit away I might just do a little bit more and I won't cut any more elastic at the sides because that's fine right so just there we go so now it sits underneath my belly not the bottom it's it's Anthony's my belly it's elasticated enough to keep it held up I can now breathe and if I turn around you don't get muffin top look I was talking about that so one more time family wait a little bit before it was about they're cutting into me and this is all that I've cut away okay I'm not I'm not cutting out too much so from the side it's really free it's really roomy lentil can kind of move around and I can feel free and whatever and it's all good now because of the material that leggings are the lycra it's almost like jersey material so once you put them in the wash you'll just start to fold over there won't be any fraying you know there won't be any kind of loose material or loose string or anything like that so you'll be fine just doing that to a pair of leggings when I bought some maternity leggings but they're like a one size fit all fits all and they fit me from the thighs down to the ankles but the belly comes all the way up there and it's just baggy it's really big I'm not yet ready to wear those so in the interim I've got my cheap whole leggings from good ol faithful Primark it could be from anywhere if you're quite happy cutting up you know you're good quality ones because you know that you're going to wear them again then do whatever feels right for you but I've not cut away too much and I didn't do it in one go I did this bit in one go and then I ended up cutting a little bit more so I hope that's helpful if I come across any other you know pregnancy related fashion related getting into your clothes or gain out your clothes depending on you know wherever you are then I'll make some more videos okay so hope that helps guys speak to you soon next time from lentil in me bye bye
