hi this is Falcon glue for elevate design today I'm going to show you how to tie an overhead knot this is an optional technique you can use to make your macrame t-shirt throw in the main tutorial I showed you how to tie an overhand knot in general terms tying an overhand knot with a higher finish will require more attention to detail and take longer to tie you'll have to decide what's more important having consistent knots or tying knots more quickly just so you know I use this technique for the throw I made for Nate Berkus let's get started t-shirt yarn has two sides one side is cleft where the edges have curled in the opposite side is smooth take two t-shirt strands in one hand to create a double strand make sure the cleft sides are facing you here's one side with cleft here's the other side that has cleft if this were on a throw the standing end would be the part that's attached to the throat wrap the working end over the back of your hand bring it up over the palm of your hand crossing over the standing end to create a loop make sure the cleft side of the double strand is on the outside of the entire length of the loop pull the working end through the loop remove your hand and tighten the knot you with the original orientation the standing end has clefts facing you while the working end is smooth the entire surface of the knot is cleft let's see it a second time wrap the working end over the back of your hand bring it back up and over your palm to cross make sure the klephts stays on the outside of the loop for the entire length pull the working end through the loop take the knot off your hand and tighten you again notice the entire surface of the knot is clapped now that we have two knots you can see they form triangles with points that face in the same direction one more time around up and cross pull the working end through and tighten we now have three triangular knots that point in the same direction this formed one side of your throw if you flip it over you'll see coils this is the other side of your throw using this technique will give your throw a more consistent pattern of knots and a higher level of finished for more tips and projects visit releve design calm this is Bao conlou for releve design I hope you join us next time
