hi my name's Dave fallin and I'm from the New Zealand home heating Association and we're here to show you how to light a warm and cozy smoke-free fire fuel management is very important so the first thing you have to have a good supply of kindling then you have to have a good supply of medium to small wood the medium to small wood and the kidney become your foundation of a good fire the first thing that we should do is preparation by taking some paper and rolling it into a paper knot and you have ear running through the tube of the paper you've actually ended up with a piece of solid fuel so now we're going to load the fire first of all we're going to put in the paper nuts we still have some crunch that paper that we're going to fit in front to light the paper nuts and then we'll put in the Kinley now the main thing with the kindling has got to stack it in you want to spread that around also so there's plenty of the air it's oxygen around the kindling that makes a nice hot smoke free fire and the same thing when we load these smaller pieces of wood we're just going to place them around the side so that there are they're nice and freely under the can we don't shut the door right off just leave it a jab and make sure that the ear control is on high the other kindling is well alight shut the door and leave the you control on high now we have the smaller logs well charred and alight we're going to add some more smaller logs on for the second load shut the door and leave it on high you can see now the door is shut that the logs are stacked with plenty of air flowing through them and this will be contributing towards a hot fire and a warm home now you can see that the wood is charring and brikene it's time to get our coat and go outside to see if we've got a smoke free fire now is a good time to add the larger pieces of wood so that the larger pieces of wood catch and burn hot and bright also and still the air controllers on high now the fires been burning for an hour and it's really nice hot and cozy we can look at shutting the fire down when you're reloading a fire make sure the ear control is on high open the door put a piece of wooden with a friend shut the door and leave the air control on high for at least 10 15 minutes now your fire has been burning for 10 minutes after the reload you can turn the air control down if you follow these steps you can have a warm cozy smoke free fire and a healthy home you
