hi I'm Vivian with fork and place comm and today we're gonna show you how to make a hot butter drum drink now this is so awesome for the holidays now what you're gonna need for this recipe is about one stick of room-temperature butter that's unsalted you're gonna need some dark spiced rum about 2/3 of a cup of light brown sugar about half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon 1/8 of a teaspoon of ground nutmeg we're using fresh nutmeg we're gonna do it ourselves but you can also use the kind that's already ground up for you and we're gonna use about an eighth of a teaspoon of ground cloves you're also gonna need to get some water boiling ok so the first thing you want to do is you want to take your butter that is room temperature now a lot of recipes call for a hand mixer to do this and it is easier but if you don't have a hand mixer we're gonna do it this way because we don't have one so we're going to take our butter and our sugar we're gonna just mix all this together by hand okay so we've mixed our butter and our sugar together we're just gonna add our cinnamon cloves and our fresh nutmeg we like nutmeg we're just gonna mix all this together okay so now we're gonna add our rum and the amount of brown sugar which we added here was two thirds of a cup so that's the amount of rum we're gonna add now you can add more or less you know this is your own personal preference here this this recipe here will make about four servings just mix all this together and then we're gonna add our boiling water okay so we're gonna add about two cups of boiling water in total and this will give us like I said about four servings and you just want to stir it all together until your butter melts and all your sugars dissolved in here and if you want to do this individually you can put a little bit of butter in each mug and then pour your water and rum over it but I like to do it all in one big bowl and then just ladle it into the mugs it's easier here we go and there's your Hot Buttered from oh my god is so good try it once
