don't believe me just watch don't believe me just watch don't believe me just watch don't believe me just and welcome back to 11:30 I'm your host Ahad and it's really cold outside so let's get fishy and I'm going to be frying some fish today I'm taking on Long John Silver's fried fish those of you who've never been to London silver stone by your body let me fight this fish for you I'll turn out excellent okay so let's start with the batter we're going to use a wet better wet batter for this fish over here I've had 1 cup of all-purpose flour into that I'm going to add about half a teaspoon of salt about 1/2 cup of cornstarch okay come on let's do this by 1 teaspoon of baking soda 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon of celery salt and 3/4 cups of water put the water in here and let's give this a whisk you want this better to be really thick because you want the batter to stick to your fish okay yeah I think this is the perfect consistency exactly where I want it to be just make sure if you after adding 3/4 cup cup if you don't get this consistency just keep adding water until you get this consistency I have to add about 1/4 cup more and get this consistency so again this is good and look this at this point you want to go ahead take your finger and just case for salt just make sure you have enough salt if you need to add more salt go ahead but for me it's perfect so I'm just going to go ahead and now get the fish ready okay so over here I have a flame of cod fish I'm going to use cod fish because that's what Wendy's restaurant I'm sorry Long John Silver's restaurants you so I'm going to go ahead and fish and Flay kind of like they do make one pie I'm not cut here make another one about 2 inches and another one these bits we can also dip these and fry with it but here you go hit the perfect play and now we're going to season this to season this I'm actually going to use two total flakes so I'm going to get the all the spices into this bowl 1/2 a teaspoon cumin 1/2 teaspoon coriander 1/2 a teaspoon red chili powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt keep this in green mix make sure they're mixed and I'm gonna go ahead and get another fillet on now we're going to season this just sprinkle it on both ends put on one side dab it a little bit flip the Flay and do the same thing on the other side all right now we're going to let sit for about 15-20 minutes and then we are ready to dip this into our batter okay we are now ready to dip the fish and right before you start dipping the fish I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to add about one teaspoon of garlic powder the reason I'm holding this garlic till the end because I wanted to China I want the garlic flavor to be prominent so I'm going to go ahead and mix that up and now we are ready to mix our different fish and put on the front we're now ready to fry again make sure it's a 375 degrees I'm going to grab a caged piece of fish and basically dip it really good once you have the batter all over then go ahead when you drop this to the fire make sure just don't drop it you have to lower it in a little bit move it around don't just drop the fish in the fryer right away there we go now we're going to get the other people fish same way tip it up if a little bit of excess off and again same thing make sure you okay keep moving around or look at the golden color okay we're gonna fire to about five to six minutes or until it's golden brown just make sure you keep looping it once or twice just the one side does not get extra from this one is looking perfectly good totally golden brown here are the bits that I actually cut the ends up there you go those are frying as well and this won't look perfectly good so I'm going to go ahead and take it out and the start plating ready let's go ahead and let's get this plated we're going to use spicy tartar sauce again the recipes on the screen but it's pretty simple tartar sauce and hot sauce mix adding used house up I actually use sriracha so it's sriracha and tartar sauce next and that's it and let's get our fish Wow look at these places perfectly golden brown I'm going to go ahead and get out those little fish bites and here we go it's a perfect plate Thank You moon for watching that's it for today it's again if you like my videos don't forget to subscribe follow me on instagram and twitter @calallentv i'm going to go ahead and dig in i'm going to go to school style scatter piece dip it in the sauce mmm fish is moist and crispy from outside little spicy from that chili powder turned out perfect see you guys next time
