so now we've got a drain box down on the bottom of this window well I've had this hose running for almost an hour now full blast and the window will is not filling up with water anymore so that's the outside no more problems with a window well turning into an aquarium and flooding these people's basements and now we have taken the pipe from the window well hooks it into the sump pump and then we've installed a pipe here that pumps the water out of the house it's got the backflow device on it right here which is very very important so there's the water that's in this pipe here does not flow back down when the pump stops and then we hooked up a deep charge 9-volt car battery it's a battery backup so that if the system stops during a storm it's going to charge the 9-volt sump pump system back up inside of the sub crib and allow the crib to evacuate the water it's got a control panel on it on this battery backup and this control panel will tell you if the power to the house goes off it'll start buzzing and then it'll it will engage the DC pump it will pay that the battery is charging if there's low acid in the battery it's basically the brains of the entire system now in this sump pump cover we've actually got this cover put down and it's put down with some bolts so if you ever need to get inside of your sump pump what you need to do is to take a wrench and what we're going to do is we're going to show you how to take a sump pump cover off and what you simply need to do is to get yourself a little socket wrench on a screwdriver simply take the bolts off there's bolt one coming right off and then we're going to take that bolt right out of there just like that go in the back take the other bolt off easy peasy no problem anybody can do this then big a rocket scientist and he's getting that last bolt out there and then you simply lift it up now let's go ahead and lift that cover completely off there and let's see what's inside of one of these some cribs to do that we're going to have to disconnect the backflow device so that we can completely remove the top so what I'd like you to do now is simply take and remove that back foot of what so now we're lifting that up as you can see down in there my water is coming out of that window well like crazy there are flies are primary AC pump there and then that blue yellow critter there is our DC battery backup pump and that's the one that's going to get you out of trouble is you've got a hurricane or a big storm now keep your basement reliable and that's how this 35 gallon could live and that's how we dried out this window that was charging these people all this tremendous amount of great and it was just as simple that Phoenix own services paid for water you okay well this is the finished product here and as you see these are the green pop-ups here so much about so what happens is when the what insects and bugs and critters they just can't get inside of these thing but what happens is when the water comes and flows out of them the top pops up let's the water out when the water stops flowing they snap back into place and that keeps little moles and squirrels and stuff for making a house down there blocking up your system leaves you can run your lawnmower right over that okay so we put back in you've seen the pictures there where we dug out and put in the schedule 30 PVC pipe and of course you know we came in and went down to chantilly turf farm got us some nice fresh tall fescue grass so we you know replaced it this didn't leave a big dirt trail there this part of the house here actually had a negative drink grade so all the water was going right back into that basement so we've brought in a few tons of topsoil tied in all of our downspouts into this drainage system and built all of this up here so that we have nice positive grade and then of course we had to go in here and tear up part of the patio that we put back together again there's our window and then we came over here now they've got the scoop you can see this huge hill with all this water coming down here we put in a traditional French draining system along this wall here with scheduled 30 pipe with wrapped with a nylon sleeve so that sediment wouldn't get in there and then that has the holes in the top so the water goes into that it's all pitches of about a quarter of an inch per foot so the water drain downhill always and then what we did is we then tied in the downspouts here on these two corners and then basically tied this French drain system and all along here goes all the way down there picks up up all this water up up all this hill basically dry it out the yard and a coarse dried out their aquarium style window they had their basement I think the ladies pretty darn happy I might even get paid on them hey you know it's Glen out here in Northern Virginia and we've just had a lathe oh my god she was heartbroken she had water coming in of her basement window it was every time it rains she had an aquarium in there she's a dud like tropical fish of any sort or kind and let me ask you a question do you think Phoenix came out here came up with a viable solution to fix your your wind a problem yes it and the folks seem like they're fairly friendly dependable tech guys came up to work every day did pretty much what they said they were to do yes they did and would you recommend using Phoenix yes I would all right thank you very much
