hey what's going on guys today's video I'm gonna be showing you how you can fix your smoke detector carbon monoxide detector this one is First Alert this will be the same in many different ones not just this particular one but this one is model SC 9 1 2 0 B by first alert this is a 2 1 1 you're hearing a beep every 30 seconds or so super annoying this home that I live in is a KB home high roofs so just be careful make sure you're on a proper ladder or not like I am here but I'm up against a pull-up bar my back is to it just use caution don't fall down your stairs how we got to this point right here very simple let me show you all we did is we went counterclockwise and that dropped this down now that plug was inserted right in here to that latch right there real simple two small prongs there one small prong right there two small prongs on the right side and the small problem on the left side that's how you re insert it now it's not making a beat because of the hard wiring this is hardwired in to the unit obviously this is a condominium townhome so this helps out with obviously the fire sprinklers right here that's why it's hardwired in but the beeping is coming from a battery ok I'm gonna show you two options the easiest option to bring the whole entire unit down so you can kind of see a little bit better what you're doing it's it again very easy or you simply can skip some of these steps pop this tab right here the door will open up take out the battery and put it back in but I'm gonna show you it's only gonna take you two extra minutes and this will give you better access to it so you can see what you're doing so keep watching and this particular one this battery should have lasted a lot longer this model is from July 5th 2016 and unfortunately the battery is already going out current filming of this is fall of 2018 so it's about a little over two years so right here where it says installed right here looking at like this here we have this little tab right here push that in with your thumb or whatever I'm using obviously one hand and that slides open the battery pack right here this is a 9-volt battery I will have that linked in the description box below as with this exact unit as well and we're gonna go ahead and switch off the battery and we also tested the battery and it is complete rubbish I will also link a battery tester these are very inexpensive and I highly recommend these for triple-a batteries everything double-a batteries again 9 volt we have absolutely nothing right there this particular model is very hard to see but inside down right there at the bottom it has a plus over here has a minus so that's the way you want to reinsert it and on the side of the 9-volt batteries you're gonna see a plus right there on the other side there's no - they assume that you know that that is - so obviously this side is + so we're gonna go ahead and insert the battery back in like that latch it on up it'll beep on you really loudly so be careful about that alright we have our cable plugged back in and then all we do here you might have to play around with the rotation but you do have some notches right here that I just insert it straight up and now we'll go clockwise and that will latch it in so that's not coming down your batteries all good to go thank you guys so much for watching the video and I hopefully it is helped you smash that thumbs up button if it has and make sure you smash that subscribe button because sky's the limit on this channel we'll see you on the next one take care bye bye
