buddy is running from the garden frog boutique hey don't mind my mess but this is my area where I kind of rescue plants and as you can see I have some Irish back here that I rescued a couple years ago and so we're going to transplant them and I'm going to show you how okay I gently lifted the iris out of the area you can use a trowel or anything and you lift your iris out and after a bloom after they're done blooming is the best time but these aren't going to bloom because they didn't have enough Sun and they weren't really meant to grow but they did and these are actually going to go to a client's house a new client so I am pretty happy about that but you have to cut the stems down with iris it's the best way to transplant them otherwise they fall over because the stems can get kind of heavy now I cut them down about four or five inches okay then you're going to find yourself with at least morning full on sun six to eight hours afternoon Sun but really iris want about six hours of Sun to bloom full Sun is the best especially in zones four and five but down here in the warmer climates iris can actually get away so what I do is I use the back of the stem kind of as a prop to prop it up in the back of the hole and I just kind of dig the hole out not very deep because you want the rhizome just to sit there and take the dirt and you're just kind of comp acting around the rhizome that's all you do now if you have more and you want to do a clump and you just have other areas stick the back of the iris up against the back of the whole kind of stand there and compact the dirt around it sometimes you have to work it and I'm doing this one handed so I'm kind of stumbling here but this is all you have to do work with the rain and work with the so you have an iris they'll grow just about anywhere so this is my gardening tip for the day leave the top half to sunbathe and you're good to go thanks for stopping by and I'll talk to you later
