Please explain how to make a headband | sequin hair flower and leaf

hey guys welcome to the untidy artist today I'll be showing you how to make a sequin leaf that you can add to any type of flower in this tutorial we add the Leafs to a sequin hair flower and put it on the headband they're really pretty on their own or here's a sneak peek for Thursday's tutorial for a fabric flower so if you haven't already subscribed please be sure to subscribe so you'll be the first to know when this video comes out let's grab our supplies the first thing you'll need is some sequin trim that you can buy by the yard or I bought this entire roll for one dollar green felt for the leaf to match the sequins and some felt to line the back I've got black here a pair of sharp scissors and whatever type of headband you'd like to put your flower on my glue been set on low of course and you'll need whatever type of hair flower you would like to add to your headband we'll be using a sequin hair flower to learn how to make this secret hair flower you can check out the tutorial up above okay let's get started the first step is to cut a leaf out of your felt you'll want to decide what size you want your leaf to be I would like my leaf to match with the sequin flower so I cut out a rectangle that measures 1 and 1/4 by 1 and 3/4 of an inch then go ahead and fold the rectangle in half lengthwise and you'll round off the very bottom and then cut the top into a point it doesn't have to be perfect and you can make this bigger or smaller depending on how big you want it to be I like how this looks with the secret flower and now it's time to start gluing the sequins on so starting at the bottom put a small line of glue and then take your sequins and gently lay them at the very outer edge of the felt you can see it just barely overlaps there and you'll go up the side of the leaf when you get up to the top where the vias where the very point of the leaf is make sure that you turn the sequins making a nice shape for your leaf the point at the top and work slowly in small sections with the glue the reason I like to use my glue gun set on low is because you can handle the glue better this is just with one layer of the sequins it actually looks kind of cute like this so just keep going around lining the glue inside right inside the layer of sequins II just did following the line of the outside edge of the leaf and you can see once we get to the very end here you're going to take your sequence and before you actually glue that last part down I take the sequence and make a circle so I need them around themselves and then giving myself a little bit of extra room I lay the circle down put some glue underneath and then gently press that down holding that all into place and then I can go back and cut the sequins and trim off any of the excess string and check any of the ends under if you do have an extra sequin that you need to cover up the spot you can definitely go back in and glue that and if you have some obnoxious glue showing my favorite trick for getting rid of blue is to take your hairdryer and blast it on my until the glue melts and then it's nice and clear now we're going to add it to our sequins our so line it up where you'd like it to be at with your flower put a dab of glue at the base of the leaf we're just going to glue it to the back of our sequin there this is what it would look like on just a metal headband but I've decided it would be fun to do it on a stretchy headband so this is just one that I brought you can see where the seam is and I'm going to line over the scene because that's kind of a scratchy part place my just Center my sequin and my leaf right over that and then cut out a piece of felt to cover the back and I cut out a circle and then kind of an oval so that will line the back of the flower and then the oak will will line the back of the leaf and it will hold them both into place and secure them to the head back so line the circle with glue and press that down firmly then line the Oval piece of felt with glue and overlap it slightly and that's it you have a really sparkly sequined headband now this is just one way to use a sequin leaf please let me know in the comments below other ways or other types of flowers that you think it would be cool to use this with check out some of my other tutorials and please subscribe give this a thumbs up if you liked it see you next time
