Please explain how to clean hard water stains on glass - and keep them from returning

hi I'm Wendy Williams the cleanup point with another great tip of the week and I think was about a week ago I made this brief announcement that I discovered something that takes off hard water stains on shower glass and that I was going to make a video about it soon so I can't delay any more so here I am on the outside of my shower but there are a couple of things I want you to know and this is so exciting because I used to use the phosphoric acid based CLR or ed breads and they worked pretty well except over the years they've changed the formula it's becoming less and less effective and I discovered this I've been using this for a while but not in this way so here's what it is it's bar keeper's friend and this is the powder version and this is the kind of the soft scrub version it's a liquid version and they contain oxalic acid that's different than the phosphoric acid and it to me it's it's not dangerous or anything as always you want to wear gloves and you want to read the instructions but I put a piece of glass here it doesn't have hard water but here's what I wanted to show you what I like to use is the Magic Eraser and on my shower glass I sprinkle some of this and I create a paste and I just smooth it on like this and I do this all on the inside of the glass or you can just shake up the liquid version and you can use that some people might prefer that I I prefer to use the powder I just think it works a little bit better okay so here we've got both of the products on and then by the time you're done scrubbing work on an area at a time let it sit for one minute and then you take your magic eraser and then you put in a little elbow grease but now this is set for a minute don't let a total of more than about two minutes go by then you rinse and if depending on how bad the hard water is it should all be gone I'm telling you this I was so excited that the other day I want to just to jump up and down because it works far superior to the CLR the phosphoric acid so bar keeper's friend your magic eraser and the trick is to get it on there and let it sit for a minute then scrub with the magic eraser and rinse you might need to repeat this once or twice but then it's just an upkeep remember to always dry your shower down when you're done to keep the hard water from forming in the first place because it is corrosive as well as unsightly if you've enjoyed this tip please visit my facebook page the cleanup Queen and visit my website the cleanup Queen com for more great video tips and resources talk to you soon
