would you like to get your hands on a couple of pirate balls watch this ahoy i'm captain rob lee and welcome to pirate lifestyle tv be sure and watch this video all the way to the end for some entertaining news let's jump right in and get to having some fun these are a pair of high-tech wicked sweet gadgets to make yarn pom-poms instead of the old-fashioned pair of cardboard donut circles we all used as kids these plastic gadgets make pom pom making super easy you open up the ring and wind the yarn around the wings on either end of the contraption i have to tell you why i am doing this it is a pretty interesting story not too long ago i was cruising around youtube looking at and watching interesting videos i came across the video about making pom-poms with the old-fashioned cardboard rings it jogged my memory of back when i was a kid and we always were doing crafty things at our house at our grandparents house or maybe one of the aunts and uncles houses you know back in the day everyone crocheted or knitted and they darned socks in patched jeans what i am doing is winding the yarn not too tight and not too loose around the wings i found with this yarn in this gadget 100 windings works pretty good so i am winding 20 times with pumpkin then i wind 20 times with black then another 20 times with pumpkin and 20 more times with black and finally 20 more times with pumpkin for a total of 100 yarn windings on each of the two wings 60 of pumpkin orange and 40 of black so anyway i really enjoyed the video from theresa the crochet geek she has a great channel here on youtube with hundreds and hundreds of wicked cool videos explaining how to do all kinds of fun projects so please check out her channel it's crochet geek and i will put a link in the description under this video this is the weird part on thursday while the admiral and i are out shopping and running our weekly errands like we do every thursday we are in a jo-ann's fabrics picking up something we needed and there they were hanging on the wall these pom pom making gadgets it must have been a sign so i picked out pumpkin orange and black yarn because halloween is the next holiday coming up after getting all the yarn windings 100 on each wing you close the contraption back together in a circle cut a length of yarn to tie everything together then take your scissors and carefully cut around the edge the outside of the circle separating the two halves of the yarn once this is once this is done snugly tighten the yarn and tie it good and tight it is a bit of a trick to get it tight enough without breaking the yarn trust me then i tie a knot in the end so you can hang your newly made pom pom so the beauty of making something fun like pom poms it is family safe be careful with the scissors and you change the yarn color for whatever is the holiday coming up for christmas you might use red and green yarn and there you go a fluffy fun pirate ball pom pom to thank you for watching me videos and sharing them with ye friends we want to give you something for all the details on what you need to do to get a pair of pirate balls and an autographed book check out my blog at www.piratelifestyle.com i hope you enjoyed this pirate lifestyle tv quickie visit me blog link is in the description with the help me goal be to motivate and stimulate friends to be living the pirate lifestyle
