so it's been a little while since I've done a video and today I decided I today I decided I want to do something with this I'm already painted white once and I kind of want to do something a little bit new to it I want to put an LED strip inside of here that also goes off with the base of my subs so we're going to do that today so first to do this is we're going to have to remove some trim so if you have a trim tool it will make things pretty easy for this but you have let's see you have this trim here that you got to pull off a little notch down here where this will just kind of pop off and there's some bolts and screws and whatnot and you have one up in here and this one is the pain so we're going to get these off and we'll go from there so really quick I wanted to say that I I may have misspoke earlier I can't really remember now but there's actually only three bolts that you have to remove to pull this door these these just hold a handle to the door so you pull these three bolts one two three you remove the screw that's hidden under this little flap and you remove the screw that's hidden behind this panel and then we should be able to start pulling the door off now so because I've pulled my door off so many times to do various trim the handles to speaker grilled this trim here the clips are kind of warm out to the point where it's very easy for me to pull my door trim off without those bolts and screws and everything in there it becomes a lot easier for me so I mean I've already started it so this is a ultimen off really easy for me but I'm gonna have to put the camera down in order to finish this next part because behind here there is a little lever that this is attached to so it's the add the locking mechanism for the door and you have to release that and you also have to release a couple of wiring harnesses before you can actually take the whole whole panel off so really quick the wiring harnesses I'm talking about it right here and then this is the piece that has to come off to the door will go all the way down if not but when there is one down there to closer to the bottom which is the window controls so I'm going to get these under the real quick so I brought the door panel inside and I've left the speaker grill attached because what I wanted to look at was how much material we had for this edge to attach an LED strip to and the only usable material starts at about here works its way up there's a little flat spot here comes down and it stops right about I'd say about here so I have enough room for a strip that will kind of come all the way up and in here and let's see so the strip will be inside of here I'm going to put as close to the grill as possible I don't want it further away and we'll route wire towards the front here because that's where the wires will have to come through the through with the little harness that comes through there the powers everything in the door so that's my plan and that's what we're going with so this video for me is more of just documenting how it how I'm going about making this led LED strip work inside of this door but for some of you well it'll be is how how to take certain pieces of trim off so you can paint them or how to remove the door panel so you can get access to stuff and here or just how to remove the door panel period if you've never seen it before so yeah so I brought the door panel back out to the car and I got it put back on everything routed through I wasn't able to route through the through this as this appeared to be some kind of like a wire harness connector right here so what I did was instead was I found this hole here which had a little rubber seal in it and I just slid the wire through there and as it turns out there's actually a hole also in here and I'm not sure what the original intention behind that hole was but it really worked out for this so I'm not sure if that's going to go back in just yet I'm gonna give it my best to see if I can put it back in there to keep it kind of water sealed but we'll see so now that I have my wires coming through I've already tested it before I turn on the camera because I've learned multiple times that when I don't test something before I start filming I get made to look like an idiot so if I can do this one-handed put this one here there we go alright so the strip is in looks pretty cool and this is going to be flashing so it won't be constantly on but it'll look pretty cool at night and I got a couple more hours till then and I'm going to go ahead and put it in the other side get the other side going and once I'm done with that take it out and I'll show you guys what it looks like you never say that I'm not
