Please explain how to make a butterfly feeder

so here at set of cell whipsnade zoo we're working for wildlife I'm asking families to come in and help us make some activities that they can take home to help out wildlife in their gardens or in their house okay it's the one idea that you can help out wildlife that your own home is to make a butterfly feeder to put out in your garden and so it's very simple to make you just need a design or a picture of a flower on some card color in however you like nice bright colors attract butterflies the most okay so the next stage is to cut them out so you might need help from an adult to do this okay so once you've cut out your flower what you then need to do is take a bottle cap from any plastic bottle like a milk bottle and you'll need to stick it on to the front of your flower like that with a little bit of glue or a little bit of sellotape and then what you can do is take a piece of cotton wool and soak it in some sugar water about one part sugar to ten parts water and then place that into the bottle cap and then they're all attract butterflies into your garden to have a snack so once you've stuck your bottle cap on you then need a stem for your flower so a simple straw or a stick will do just take a little bit of sellotape and stick it onto the back and now your butterfly feeder is ready to go you can stick it straight into the garden or into a flower pot and hopefully it'll attract lots of butterflies into your garden so if I come into zoo so whipsnade zoo over the summer you can get involved in helping out wildlife in your own home by making some of these activities and you can also learn how seda style works for wildlife here at the zoo but also out in the wild by setting up things such as camera traps and learning how they work to take photos of animals out in the wild so if you want to find out more about how you can become as that as their wildlife champion click on the link below you
