painter in this video we got a door jamb right here that's got some peeling on this side of it and down low and we're gonna be sanding it and then priming it with the mad dog primer this is durabil primer and it's great for smoothing out the edges they're gonna be left behind when we begin sanding this door jam so there's this peeling paint we're gonna be sanding that we're gonna have some bare wood and then some edges on this we want to smooth it out and this is an excellent product to use and we're gonna be using that and we're gonna show you this process so stay tuned for this video so we're gonna begin the process of prepping this door jam right here i've got a paint needle right here to begin sanding this peeling paint and sanding this door jamb also got myself a five in one tool right here to do any scraping of any loose paint and got our extension cord hooked up to this thing we're gonna sand this thing and then we're gonna brush our primer on it let it dry and then we'll be painting it later on in the week when we paint this house and paint the door jamb so here i go with prepping it with my paint eater right now this is a wagner painter i love this love these things these things are excellent for sanding stuff like this it it takes off the paint really fast the the disc itself doesn't clog with paint but it stands really well so here i go with this prepping process we're going to start this process off by just removing the door weather strips which come out really easily just using my painters five in one tool now i can see some of this peeling paint right here it's coming off we'll begin sanding it now with our paint eater it'll wear some eye protection when you're doing your sanding here so i got the door jamb it's all sanded now we do got some edges right here that need to be re-caulked so we're going to re-cock this door jam let it dry and then we're going to take our mad dog dura build primer and we're going to re-prime this door jamb we've got some bare wood right here and then some edges on the paint and stuff where it didn't all come off and this is just going to help smooth out those edges and make this door jam look a lot better than what it looks right now so i got this thing all sanded it's all caught it's ready to be primed i'm just gonna open up my primer and just brush a nice good thick coat on this thing and then we're going to be letting that dry and coming back and painting this house one quick note when it comes to using this primer when you top coat it you only want to use a satin or semi-gloss paint you don't want to use a flat paint because it'll crack because this primer is extremely flexible and it moves a lot and a flat paint will crack on it within a few days so we we paint all of our exteriors with satin so it's not going to be issue so so there you have it how to prep a peeling painted surface all the products and accessories i'm using in this video you can find them down in the video description below if you haven't subscribed to my channel please consider subscribing to my channel and you can also find me for a lot more tips and tricks on facebook pinterest twitter and even instagram and once again we'll see you on my next video ow so there you have it the proper process to so there you have it the simple method of prepping a peanut peeling painted so there you have it the video on that's not gonna work either so there you have it how to prep a painted or no appealing painted surface so there you have it so there you have it how to prep a peeling painted suit so there you have it how to prep a painted peeling no peeling painted surface well there you have it there's how you so there you have it how to prep a painted peeling painted
