Please explain how to change an outdoor spotlight bulb

we're going to change that earned out spotlight way up there under the east to change our spotlight we're going to use this telescoping extension pole it comes as part of a light bulb changer kit so you simply extend the pole those links you like it and then you have turned the bottom section one way in order to lock that into place and then it won't slide up or down similarly when you're done just turn it the other way to loosen it and it will slide right back into place okay on the end of that extension pole you have your choice of three for lack of a better term light bulb grippers there are Springs sturdy Springs and they have rubber grippers along the springs to grasp the bulb and this is the one we're going to use today here's another different kind you can attach on there as a suction cup you can attach a string to there and you pull the string to release the subject suction cup from the bulb and here's how the bulb will attach we'll we'll slide this up there on the end of our extension pole okay first we put the bulb drip around on the extension pole and it just screws on and to make sure it stays on nicely there's second little set screw you can tighten it sometimes these little rubber pieces don't grasp the bulb but tightly enough and sometimes the bulb just plain gets stuck in the socket and it's hard to turn out what you can do is take some duct tape sticky side out and wrap it around these rubber pieces and that will give you extra sticky grippy power when you go up there to get that bulb out once we have the duct tape sticky side out attached around each of these rubber grippers then we're all set to go and we're going to extend the pole reach up and take the burned-out spotlight out take the burned-out bulb out of there and it's stuck in there tight that paint does its job we'll leave that duct tape in there because we may need it when we send up the new bulb there is a metal contact in the spot light bulb socket much like the one in this lamp socket sometimes it gets pressed down inside in the bulb won't light because it fails to make contact with the metal contact in the socket so what you might want to do is put a spot of rosin core solder on the end of your bulb here that will ensure that it makes contact with that metal contact inside of the socket to keep your bulb from getting stuck in the socket next time you go to change it it's a good idea to put just a little bit of petroleum jelly on the screw bands and that will make it easy to get out of the socket next time you have to go change it we are ready to send our new bulb up it can be a little tricky to get the threads to screw correctly into the socket so you have to be kind of patient and once you've got it in place to the gentle tug that will come off and you can chug the bulb into position which we like it to point you and now for the final test it works
