hey guys and welcome to not my kitchen we are in my backyard and we are in my backyard because it's full of snow I'm resisting the urge to throw a snowball at you and today I'm going to show you how to make that seal they have otherwise known as maple taffy maple taffy is the most quintessential food which we serve at sugar shacks and all you do to make it is you bring maple syrup to a boil in this case I used 1 cup of maple syrup and you leave it on a very low simmer and you let it cook for like 15 to 30 minutes and when it goes all bubbly and it looks like caramel that's when you know it's ready and all you do is you take it outside and you pour it over this note okay we have rats here it's ready to go now I've got my setup I've got my pen which is tightly packed snow I've got here some not fly popsicle sticks good popsicle stick and all I'm going to do is pour this into little strips right on my pan and what happens is that this hits the snow and it starts to harden and so look at that i've made a maple popsicle stick I'm going to give one a try it right now I mean it's awesome you've just made a maple lollipop I mean what could be bad we don't always get to go to a Cabana suit so just being able to do this at home is awesome I waited a little while before putting it on the shack but if you don't wait as long I won't be as chewy but even so this isn't dentist's friendly food I hope you'll give this a shot especially if you're somewhere where you can't do it Kevin SH you can use any grid of maple syrup it doesn't matter no you cannot use fake maple syrup oh my god how could you even think that there's one ingredient in this recipe you gotta get it anyway take care and I hope to see you soon bye
