and welcome to ryan mcgee's channel um sorry i haven't done one last wednesday not the one just gone because i had a lot of coursework to do and i also have to say sorry for not doing one this wednesday because typically the weather has been absolutely rubbish you're not in my favor so today we are do one and it's gonna be how to make an origami flying swan now i haven't pre-made one to show you what it looks like so follow the steps and you'll see the outcome um just to help you show the creases i will be using a pro marker pen they're basically manga pens but they show great on a camera so i cannot complain so first if you got yourself an equal square sheet then that is fine unfortunately i've had to rip one out my page and i've got two a4 so just gonna start with navel first if you've ripped one out the page just make the crease where there already is one and put a small tear and then just pull apart like so right now we've got that done we're gonna have to make this a square piece now so what you do you bring this corner here to well this edge here to this edge so you bring it down like so and we make another crease um if you want to make really easy creases then run your finger along it pick it up and just run both your nails across it like so and you'll hear um a good sound from it now we've got this this would be our scrap piece so what we're gonna want to do is tear off there we go oh got a bit of my artwork oh well um we're going to want to rip that bit there so what we do turn it around bring it until you get the crease at the top and just run run your fingernail across it and then tap at the top and pull apart so now we've got our scrap piece so the lines i'm gonna put my book behind this because of the marker um the lines that we're gonna be making are we've got the one crease here um not really but we've got the one crease there now we go and bring this corner to this corner so just bring it down like so and make the crease um i will warn you now if you make the creases too thick or you keep screwing them the end thing will look not dreadful but once you try making a flap it will break plus i've got um ethanol pens running through the creases so it will make the creases slightly more damp so we've got these two folds here at the moment now we're gonna want make this edge here touch this edge here so bring bring that create or bring the edges across and make the crease obviously you don't have to keep putting these lines in it's just so it's easier for you to see and they are only rough so now we've got this shape and now we're going to just flip it around so you've got this then bring this edge to this edge now that i'm right there and right it's this edge to this edge i'm sorry um i'm really having a bad day today but i am not restarting this video which is why i'm doing it like this so anyway you should get what i like to call uh pizza cut because obviously you normally have eight triangles on a pizza so now we have done that what we are going to want to do is flip it around so we've got one corner facing towards us so i'll just put an arrow there to show it's facing towards me and what we're going to want to do is fold it in like this so we've got the three creases there now what you're going to want to do is hold the opposite piece to the triangle so hold this section for this triangle in this section for this triangle so hold this section put your finger on the end and push in and fold in so i'll show you again let you put your finger hold it there put your finger on the end push as you can see it's going in push and then fold the edges in like so so now what we're going to want to do going to want to bring this edge to the center and this edge to the center so you bring it in and make the crease bring it in like so there's one of the creatures aren't exact just means if they are more exact that is better so we've got this triangle piece up here now turn it around and do the same so now we've got ourself a kite shape like so now what we're going to want to do when we've got this kite shape is bend this triangle towards you and make a small crease and then away from you and behind we've increased as well so this bit is quite manual now what we're going to do is open this up like this so we got our original shape and then what we're going to want to do i'll show you the creases so we've got this shape for my creases look now what you're going to want to do face this over to the left to the right this piece here now i'm shading in that piece of left or right put your finger on it and only lift this piece up you want to go want to go keep these two pieces in the middle there so just lift this one up pull back until you get the bird's mouth shape and then push down and you will because my foot rips a little because we all make mistakes here until we get this shape so turn around i'll show you again put your finger on the triangle lift up so you get yourself a bird mouth as they call it and then fold down so then we get what i call the bow's legs and the bird's mouth for the tongue so now what we're going to want to do is i'll label this one left and this one right now what we're going to want to do is pull the right all the way over and lift the leg in so just say again pull the right bit over like this so you flip it to the left and pull the leg up like this so you should see this kind of shape and then pull the right back like i said doesn't really matter if you have lips in them i get rips in them all the time when i've been practicing now what you do is you pull the left to the right and left the left leg up so now what you should get is a basic triangle shape and make it crease and then what we do we lift the left back over like so now we've got this shape we're going to make what i call the crown your land somewhere in a minute so from the right side as you can see there's this bit in the middle that we've just pushed in so grab that bit by the tip and pull down until you get the edges here straight with each other so so you can just pull it towards you until the edges are straight and then crease in we do it this side as well the bit that we pushed in the left pull towards you until you think that the paper is flush and crease so now we've got a crown kind of shape now depending if you want the right to be the head or the left to be the head i prefer the right so i'm going to go with the right what you do is you take your thumb open this up and push it inside and pull this down towards your thumb until it's touching and then you crease so then you get the head like this you can if you want to make it bigger head or you can make it smaller head so there we are now we've got the swan's tail this one said so now all we need to do is make the wing so you grab one of the wings and you fold it this way towards the head and crease when the fold line is pretty much in line with the neck and push down and fold turn it around look we've got the head here bring the wing down until it's roughly in line with the neck fold down again and make the crease bring the rings up and there we have it look this is us one now to make it flap you've got this tank here on the right or for your heads on the left then it'll be on the left so you grab the front two feet because you can't pull them away to make the feet but grab the front two feet grab the tail and pull and you get yourself a flapping bird now like i did say if you do make the creases too much like i have plus i've got their um alcoholic pens so which does water damage them they will become damaged but as you can see this one does flap still so that is how you make a swan remember not to crease too much because you will get your whips and if you need to see any steps again please go back and you can watch them so next time i might be showing you how to make a ninja star and be a ninja or i might actually do another art video because i know i have almost finished with my coursework and when i have finished my coursework i'm pretty sure i'm gonna put it on here anyway because we're like that so there we are and i did also brand pro markers they are i think three pound each proper manga pens they are extremely good so next time i'll be showing you how to um either use these make a ninja star you say if you're watching and hopefully when my coursework is done i will be showing you my final piece of the coursework until then
