that's innate the two color plated basket weave stitch English style for this tutorial you will need a pair of knitting needles and two balls of yarn in the colours of your choice special thanks to our sponsor webs for providing today's yarn today we are using their Northampton yarn from their Valley yarns line for the stitch you'll need to know the following techniques knit purl slip stitch with yarn in front with yarn in back to begin this stitch you must use your color a and cast on in multiples of three now before we get into the main part of this pattern we're going to do a prep row by continuing with color a and knitting all stitches Row one beginning on the wrong side of our work we're going to take our color B here and we are going to start by purling three so I'm just going to wrap my yarn over like so and begin working with it okay then we're going to slip the next stitch with yarn in front so we'll slip this purl wise keep the yarn in front okay and then we're going to purl two and we're going to repeat this sequence all the way across until the end of the row so to continue slipping one and purling two row to you continuing with color B we're going to knit two then we'll start our repeat by slipping the next color or the next stitch which is our color a off where and hold this in front for now and then we're going to knit two and with our main needle here we're going to pick back up our drop stitch and place it onto our working needle like so and we're going to leave that one unworked okay so we're going to repeat this sequence all the way across let's do that again real quick we're going to slip this one off okay leave that hanging in front it's easy to find because it's the opposite color that we're working with well knit two then we're going to place this onto our working needle the stitch that we had dropped alright so we'll continue doing this all the way until the last stitch in our row and when we reach the last stitch in our row we're going to knit one row three with our color a we're going to begin by purling two so let me get color a here and I want to make sure that I'm working over our other color that's going to integrate it nice lean into the side of the work so that should be good so we're purling two here 1 and we're purling this stitch right here it's a little awkward okay then we're going to slip the next stitch purlwise with the yarn in front and we'll continue purling two and slipping the stitch all the way across until we reach the last three stitches in our row and when we reach the last three stitches in our row we're going to purl three row four continuing with color a we're going to knit one then we'll start our repeat by slipping the next two stitches with yarn and back like so okay then we are going to drop the next stitch which is this one that's the color B stitch off of our needle and we're going to hold that in front then we'll slip these two stitches back to our main needle and we're going to pick up the drop stitch onto our working needle okay and we're not going to work it we're just going to keep it right there and then we are going to knit two all right so that may seem a little bit complicated so let's do that again to continue our repeat we're going to slip these two stitches to our working needle let this stitch drop to the front then we'll slip these stitches back and we're going to pick up this stitch with our working needle then we're going to pick up the drop stitch with our working needle and then we'll knit two okay and we're going to work this pattern all the way across until the last two stitches in our row and when we get to the last two stitches in our row we're just going to knit two so we're going to repeat rows 1 through 4 until we've reached our desired length and that's how you knit the two color plated basket weave stitch after a few repeats the pattern should look like this one morning today join our VIP email list to get every stitch directly to your inbox sign up today at new Satuday comm slash VIP
