hey everyone this is sarah with sewingpartsonline.com and today we're going to go over how to use the bigfoot now this is kind of a new and improved darning and free motion quilting foot so i'm going to show you how to install it and then we're going to go over why it's better than a standard darning machine quilting foot so here we have two different quilting feet this is the quilting foot that came with my machine it's all called like a darning foot and we have a video on this if you do want to check out how to use this but this is the bigfoot right over here and you see how different they are you see how complicated this one is it's all these moving parts and every time i put this on i always still kind of get it backwards this one nice and simple and lightweight it doesn't put too much pressure on your needle bar which i found a big help when you're doing embroidery this is super easy to install you take off the the pressure foot that you already have on and go ahead and slide this under and it's got a spring in there to make this easier to install and just that's that's all there is to it you just pop it underneath there so easy so much easier than the other one actually the other one you have to hold down a lever for there we go just tighten the screw and you are ready to start quilting and embroidering so the cool thing about the bigfoot is it has this clear um foot area right here that lets you see exactly where you're quilting all the time and it provides a larger like a surface area it kind of helps move the fabric easier when you're quilting let me show you what i mean up gotta lower my pressure foot there we go here we go so i can always see the design that i'm working on when i'm doing free motion and this is the same you can use it for darning you know jeans or you know whatever you would use a free motion foot for this does it really well and i've done the free motion quilting on my other foot and it just it doesn't have the same grip that this does so like i'm doing stimpling and you can really it has a lot of movement to it i don't really feel like i have to tug a bunch anything like that it's very it's very effortless and it's a very lightweight foot so but the big thing is this big clear opening in the front that's kind of the trick to this button why it works so well there we go let's see this looks a little crazy because we're just goofing around but you see the stitches very effortlessly coming out looking come out looking very nice and very even it's a lot of fun to do and honestly this is pretty relaxing now you can use this foot for embroidery really this foot shines when you're doing darning and free motion quilting but you can use it for embroidery it's just really nice to have that clear viewfinder right there and this is less pressure on the needle bar which is very nice so let's go ahead and do a little heart there we go this kind of got this down here we go then i'm going to snip my little thread and let the machine do all the work all right let's go ahead and take a look oh yes did a nice pretty job so that was the bigfoot to purchase your bigfoot visit us online at sewingpartsonline.com on google plus or on facebook at facebook.com sewingpartsonline
