hi I'm Heidi Borchers did you know that you can use window screen to make jewelry you can just any window screen i'm also using the aleene's tacky glue in the gold bottle it's an all-purpose glue it's great for this project because I'm actually using the glue as a technique I'm going to show you how to use it for a giving it body and texture on the window screen so I'm using today the metal window screen and even though a lot of today's windows don't have middle screen you can still buy it at a store or you can also use the fiber glass window screen so are you going to cut it and I recommend just using old scissors and just go right along the line of the screen figure out how wide you want it for your bracelet and leave a little bit more so it'll go over your wrist now I just put a couple staples here to hold it together and here's where the fun begins just start taking the aleene's tacky glue and put it on the edges now what it's doing is its sealing the edges if it has any little spots that are sticking up you also want to make sure you're going to go over the staples that you put in and I found that I have to kind of do one side at a time so I'm going to let I would let like that slide dry go to the other side and then you can put any amount of glue on the main area there so you would set that aside to dry and it would it would be ready when the glue is completely clear this one I made last night so it's all clear and the next step is is you're just going to paint and I like to use a sponge and the best colors to go on to this I think are the metallic colors it just makes it look so rich so you go on the outside and then you're going to go on the inside and you can also add colors let's take a look at my samples because it shows where I've added color on color you can leave them just one color or you can do several colors on top of each other you can put all kinds of things onto these bracelets you can also do like a mixed-media you can do pearls you can do beads you can do more screen on top of screen you could do charms it's really a great technique to just come just keep on adding on to it the aleene's tacky glue in the gold bottle is available at Michael's it's terrifically tacky and creatively cool you
