hey welcome back to my channel so today on my honey-do list is dealing with these chairs we bought these chairs from discount furniture plugs about five years ago and they weren't cheap but they weren't real expensive either and like everything they were just made really poorly and we've only used them and only for special occasions that's the crazy thing on and off for about four years now and the upholstery look at that is going flat not just flat but it's actually depressing because there's nothing suspending it from the underside except for some really cheap supportive fabric strips so I turn them over and I was like how am I going to deal with this you can see how they're depressed here and then one of them it was so bad this black fabric which is like landscape fabric was actually torn so what I did is I'm using repurposed lumber from some pallets and I measured the space in between this beam and this beam which figured to be about 14 and a quarter I pre-drilled my wood which is really important when you're using repurposed or cheaper wood like pine because if you don't pre-drill your holes when you put your wood screws through it it's going to split and then it's going to be worthless I fit my pieces in there it met the lip of the wood from the underside of the chair perfectly I got my wood screws in there and then I reinforced it once again after I got my six wood screws in with corner braces these are 3/4 inch zinc quarter braces and I just did one two three four and now for about three bucks four bucks maybe and some free wood and about 15 minutes of time I've got a super solid good chair again that I won't be embarrassed to sit guests in and I'm sure it's a hell of a lot less expensive than having to buy new chairs or take them to a professional to do if you have any questions please leave your comments in the box if you like my quick cheap informative videos please subscribe it helps take care
