what's up YouTube Marty here today I'm just coming at you guys with a little how-to video so as you can see in front of you I got a boiling pot of water and red dye and I also got my parts in there actually live these parts so I'm just gonna give you guys a rundown of what all has to happen the steps so first off you want to get a pot that is gonna be big enough to accommodate your parts okay then you're gonna have to fill that pot with water and make sure it's enough water to completely submerge your parts okay then you will add your Rit dye of your choosing today we got fuchsia which is turns out to be pink so that's what we got yeah just and and a little at a time don't go overboard like today Lily just added probably probably about a I don't know couple tablespoons maybe and it's like perfect and I bet you there's about five cups of water in there so you don't need much it's better to start off with little because then you can always add some in otherwise you have to keep restarting anyway next you want to string up your parts lots of people use fishing line and then they'll hang your parts across with a coat hanger or something I'm just using some wire it's pretty heavy it's real stiff so you can kind of mold it however you want so yeah I'm using that it works really well yeah then you're gonna wire your parts through and then you're just gonna dump them down into your die here and now it's pretty much it's gonna be a waiting game for us we're trying to see the best pink so it's looking really good right now but you don't want to just stop there you want to go a little bit beyond what you think looks best because by the time you get it rinsed off and dry it off then it's get another decrease in color because you're washing off a lot of excess dye that was just on there and just from sitting in the pot so you want to go a little beyond what you think you like just because then once you rinse it all off it'll be like perfect yeah so just my advice to you is just kind of check it every minute or so just you know whatever whatever color do you think you want just like I say go go beyond that and then once you think you do have the right color then you can remove them I would suggest taking the whole pot with your parts in it over to your sink and then take your parts out gently set them in your sink so you're not splashing the dye everywhere because it will dye everything and then put your pot back on the stove and then begin to rinse your parts so right here I think we about got together we want no come check this out so it's a pretty solid dark pink but like I said that's about what you want because by the time you rinse it will fade just a little but yeah I think that's about where we want it that's good okay so shut off the burner all right so now we're gonna slowly move to the sink here remove your parts I don't drip a little set them in the sink and then you're gonna rinse your parts and don't turn the water up too much because obviously you don't want it splashing everywhere so use your finished part it's like a perfect pink just like we want it yeah then just kind of continue rinsing all your parts kind of once-over with your hand it's about all you'll need
