next thing you're going to find is up piece of copper pipe coming out there'll be a male adapter here and then your your hose bib now I get a lot of phone calls where somebody just takes a wrench and grabs a hold of this and gives it a twist and they end up twisting this pipe off in the wall and causing themselves a lot of headache so what we need to do first is you need to turn the water off to the house if you don't know how to do that refer to my video on turning off the water to your house and do that first then go ahead and let the pressure off I'm going to open this faucet up once the water is off now here's the important step you need two pairs of pliers two wrenches - something you need to hold or sustain back up this pipe and then grab the hose bib that you're taking off as you can see I'm safely removing this without doing damage to this pipe so the hose bibbs off water draining down from the house I'm going to put some pipe dope on these threads you can use teflon tape whatever you desire and then we're going to put the hose bib back on and you need to reverse that process be sure that you're going to back this pipe up while you're tightening this one on or otherwise you might have the same issue that you had with taking it off don't forget your vacuum breaker so that's our tip for the day for replacing a hose bib if you're not comfortable doing this yourself give us a call we'll come take care of it for you Aloha
