so this is a look at a berm that was made using the wet method instead of piling the material up dry it was wet and then packed down with a shovel as the berm was made and this has held up since last summer it's been through many storms it's had dogs running all over and the only thing that finally broke this berm a little bit was when i went through here with a big cart full of soil to get one of these other planting sites set up and that chewed a little piece out of the side of the berm otherwise this thing has held up incredibly well so i can show you since i'm going to go ahead and fix this right now a little bit about how this comes together i'm just patching it with the same type of material that was used to make it in the first place which is a thick mud and very easy i love how you just come in here are you coming in here to help me yeah see these dogs would tear this thing up if it was just dry so by making it out of a thick mud and it has rocks in it and stuff just whatever the native material is take advantage of it because there's lots of clay in our native soil and this is clay and sand and rocks that's just the way it was and i'm just packing it in there smooth it in here with that shovel i put these gloves on because i do like to use my hands and kind of pack packing a little bit more i can feel it feel how hard it is nice and stiff hi girl are you helping me yeah oh i know you you're so healthy i love you tonight i love you too get your paws out of my mud all right enough let that dry and it should hold up for quite a while longer at least until i come through here with another really heavy cart full of stuff
