hi this is Patty and I'm out at Al's garden center in Sherwood with Andy good morning Andy good morning patty hey my rhododendrons are all done blooming and I understand it's time to do something yes we are time to deadhead so we have a couple different varieties of rhododendrons here ready to be dead headed you can see on this right variety here we've got all dead blooms and so what you want to do is just come in here around the base of the bloom you can kind of see the new growth here as well as the serrations of the base of the bloom so what you want to do is just carefully twist off or kind of break off that face of the bloom without leaving or without harming any of the new growth they're great you don't even need pruners just a little pinch with the thumb exactly just you take your thumb and forefinger and just pinch them right off and toss them into a bucket and you're good to go good to go yes and so you just go around the blooms take them off and get ready for next year great thank you so much Andy Thank You Patti you
