hi my name is James I am your cocktail bar tender today today I'm going to make you a mint julep first of all we need to get a Boston shaker glass I'm going to put in a handful Mindy to the bottom gently give them a flat just to help release the mint flavors and then we're going to put a little bit of simple sugar syrup and just put it into the bottom sugar syrup is one part sugar to two parts boiling water poured over give it a stir and then you have very simple sugar syrup it's just a much easier way of getting sugar into a cocktail to help balance flavors then we're going to get some Jack Daniels and we're going to pop up a tiny bit at the bottom of here as well and I'm just going to gently model this together just to try and get the juices flowing it's going to add a tiny bit more sugar syrup sugar actually brings out the flavor of mint so if we didn't reason the more you put it or should help bring out the flavor of mint preferably the fresh of them in the better but if it is a bit old then you might need to despair bit extra sugar in and then we're going to get a tumbler traditionally the mint julep is served in a very traditional silver cup but if you don't have one like myself and you can just pop it in one of these we're going to put some crushed ice into this class now put about half full on my lap and then we're going to pop in a double shot of Jack Daniels well then I'm going to grab this mixture and we're going to pop it straight in then going to add a few more spoonful of ice then we're going to get us a lovely staff just to get all the flavors mingling together then we're going to fill up with ice all the way to the top and then lastly just fill up the rest of the glass about another half shot of shop for the Jack Daniels then just to garnish it off we're just going to put them in spring in as well and they have it your mint julep and it should have a really nice minty sugary flavor to Jack Daniels which perfectly blends in with you already quite sweet jack daniel's obviously a rye bourbon whiskey to America that is your mint julep and my name is James thank you very much for watching if you have any questions or comments about how I make the mint julep or any of my other cocktails please do so below in the comments section if you'd like to learn how to make other cocktails please subscribe to my channel up here otherwise thank you very much for watching and I'll see you next time
