good morning how you doing this is awesome awesome mechanics and today I'm going to be making a video about catalytic converters so I worked on one of my friends vehicle he had 1997 Ford Taurus and we're going to change out the Catholic converter because I had a code p0 430 and that's Catholic converter low efficiency okay so on those normally have changed plenty of catalytic converters out but if you don't have the money it's a pretty expensive job catalytic converters can range for the bolt on kits at least from three to five six hundred bucks depending on where you get it that's aftermarket you go a dealership you're going to be spending a buttload of money but we bought it from Ricardo Ricardo is pretty good because you get you know online prices fairly cheap but if it's not the right one you're kind of screwed and that's what happened on this one on he we bought one got it in a week later took the cat light converter out try to put it on there was not the right one it was a little bit short so I remember watching some videos of Scottie Kilmer and he said if you ever have those issues clean the Catholic convert her out or put some believe it's like a thinner paint thinner I'm not sure and that would fix it but I did watch another video of eric the car guy and he tried both of them and that was a big no-go and then work out he actually Scottie Kilmer would just do the video and then show it afterwards but he said that he did fix him up but eric the car guy he actually did it and after a couple of tests test runs the code came back on so I was just kind of skeptical on that but what the heck I don't want to try something else and I know that there's a thing called b12 and I want to see if that would work so here's my little story we I was talking to my friend and you know he said why not just give this a try if it works we save you know 400 bucks because we went to rallies and they had a catalytic converter the right one for this vehicle for $480 why not you know this part was about $27 and this is what we use we used Berryman chemical dip carburetor parts cleaner so essentially what we did we pulled out the cata catalytic converter and I'm sorry I didn't tape this I didn't think it was good work afterward my friend was was telling me you should make a video but it's already too late but I can show you what I did and so I got that chemical dip right there laid the catalytic converter on the ground dip the chemical dip in there let it sit for I let it sit for at least 6 hours you can let it sit for 24 hours whatever let it sit for 6 hours got water hose over there boom you can see it somewhere over there but I got the water hose sprayed that sucker completely clean bolted it back on let it run out there for at least 20 minutes it's going to be smoking pretty bad Oh Dalton pass stuff inside the cattle converters could be cleaned out but man he's been driving it for a while now no code whatsoever he actually got his a sticker now for the inspection and he's good to go now you know if you want to put some comments down low and another alternative rather than this a carburetor cleaner dip mmm you know let me know other people want to know as well to watch this video you know comments help out if you know if you believe that did my way wrong put your comments right there if you like this video please subscribe but I'll keep you in touch and let y'all know of any other thing happens with that Cali converter has been at least a week and a half now and he's still he's still running pretty good so you know hopefully this helps out of the people we're always here to save some money you have and I say bye
