oh hey joseph59 here to show you guys how to make a man cave sign and you can download a free set of plans and you can change it to your favorite team so you can cheer on your favorite team so i took my piece of wood and i cut it to 16 and 3 8 in length and for the top uh in width i did 12 inches and i just put my template together and then lined up both edges to make sure it was nice and square then i just took my pencil and traced along the top and the bottom edges just so this area here as you can see we're removing all of that and this also would be the time if you want to trace out the lettering you could place carbon paper underneath and trace it out and and then paint it but i'm going to be doing a different method and sand all your edges to make sure they're all nice and smooth i just used 80 grit sandpaper first to shape it into the correct shape that it needed to be and to get rid of the bandsaw marks from the edges and then i just finished it off with 150 grit sandpaper and just smooth out all the edges i used my router to give it a little decorative look and i just used a quarter inch round over bit i just went past the area where instead of just fully rounding it over i just left it up a little bit where it has that lip so that this part on the bottom gets round over but then the top leaves a nice decorative edge i used 320 grit sandpaper on my orbital sander and just went over top of it to make it all nice and smooth the paint that i used was rust-oleum's painters touch in a navy blue color and in a white color i just mixed a little bit of white into the blue to get the dallas cowboys color once i had the color i went ahead and i applied it onto the piece of wood and i did two coats of that once that was fully dry i went ahead and added my vinyl letters on top and i just used my cricut machine for that and then i went ahead and applied two coats of verithane in a satin finish and once that was completely dry i just went ahead and added on the back just a picture hanging hook just so it's easier to hang on the wall thanks for stopping by my channel and go to the video description link below for free plants don't forget to comment on this video if you would like to see more of these videos please subscribe to my channel thanks for watching
