I'm kitty and I'm Jennifer and we're the O'Neill's sisters and today we're gonna show you how to make a mosaic tray and this time instead of using grout we're gonna show you how to use resin it's clear and gorgeous so these are the materials that you will need you will need a wooden tray and we've already primed ours with spray paint primer and you will need paint to paint the tray before you mosaic it and this is just paint that we got at the craft store it's about a dollar 39 or so and this is plenty to cover this tray we have a thumb paintbrush and then we've got mosaic tiles that we're gonna use and we've got about 75 of each of these tiles and these are three quarter inch glass tiles 75 of the blue 75 of the green and then we picked up twelve beautiful shank buttons at the flea market and we're going to use these inside the mosaic and this would be the little highlight feature in the tray and for those because they have a little round thing on the back we're gonna use these wire snips just to snip the back off before we get started and when we're doing snipping or when we hammered the neck tiles with a nail to break them into smaller parts we're gonna wear safety glasses and you should too definitely we're gonna use quick grip and silicone to glue our tiles and our shank buttons to the tray and then our resin is this invite x-lite pour on resin and this our favorite kind of resin to use it's cool if the two-part epoxy which sounds scary but it's actually really not scary at all we're going to show you why it's so great and how quickly it comes together and to do that we're gonna use two plastic cups that are straight sided some chopsticks for stirring and of course gloves these are key and then when you're done pouring your resin you'll want your tray to be level so it can cure and not wind up with a pool the present at one end so for that you'll need a level so let's get started
