hello hello um first of all I want to say sorry this took so long as it did second of all this is our finished product Marcellus Shale if you don't know who this is you might want to go due to that his name is the actual full name of the video is Marcel the shell with shoes on the link will be in the bottom bar and of course credits go to Dean question um who produce and directed this video and the boys was done by an actress named Jenny slate so please please please go check them out before you watch this video who tried it's really go to them because they came up with this marvelous character so with that being said here we go so I ran down to my local a Seymour and what I found there was this nice ideal shape of a shell that had a hole at the end so that's really important for Marcel's body now this is green yarn that I'll explain what we can use for a later of course his eye for his marvelous single eye and these are paints like that and now mind you these are a little pricey so if you're not on the crafty side I'd stick with the Crayolas because they are cheaper and they do get the job done so these this is like my favorite brand because I paint a lot at home now I use cleats dull cleats that I found there as well and of course you want to get your glue and your preference is up to you and cheap brushes that that will do the trick also another thing I want to mention before we get started and I forgot to film was getting one of these guys they have them in several different sizes but this is they stay wet painters pal and these are paying two pallets so if you're using acrylic paint temper paint Crayola paint or no it's not zone category I recommend getting these because you should paper towels will just absorb graffiti you're working with and he's doing keeping everything so I already pre painted a shell and the other shells just to show what it used to look like and I mixed two paints I'm ten color in a white color and that's how I got the color I got and when it's dry I'm gonna make sure that it is dry here's some an unorthodox solution but to varnish it I use clear nail polish to make that Marcel kind of have that shiny texture that he has and that's basically what I do so here when he's dry it's time to move on to the shoes and I just use my standard white and the medium magenta that I showed earlier and what you want to do is you want to get like a nice coat because the white this way particularly comes on kind of thing so you want to cover that especially because the original color of the shoe is black if you do find these shoes in the original way that they are as in the the kind that you find in the original Marcellus shale video that would actually be even easier because I doubt the creator's painted the shoes for their shell I believe it's probably some some like Barbie doll shoe or something of that nature so yeah again again get a nice even coat all over the shoe and then let's try what you want to do is you want a thinner brush and slowly he'd be a nice arched shape across the top and the size of the shoe so you have a little space of white between the opening of the shoe and the pink line and make sure it's has a clean edge and then of course you fill it in right to the toe and you want to leave some space between the bottom edge of the shoe and your meetings there that of course is the second shoe and then these are the shoes when they're done so now the shoes are dry and what you want to do is break out your hot glue gun and notice how the shape of the shell is facing down where the lastly the Crescent kind of faces down what you do slowly and carefully glue the top edges of the shoe with your hot glue gun only the only opening so that when the shell actually rests on top of the shoes it's only the worth it's only where the blue needs you don't want to over flew it of course you'll do that after it'll be secure it and this is what we have so far based on what we just glued now this is where the green line comes in we want to align his eye socket with the green yarn because not all the time the opening is as perfect a shape as the eye we want to eventually put in so carefully and slowly glue that in but also we're kind of quickly because the glue does dry fast based on the nature of the glue and slowly align the edge that's a bamboo skewer that I use to help me secure the I ocean gluing so right now I'm just securing the eye and sometimes I feel like I used too much pressure if I use my own finger so I carefully use the bamboo skewer and of course use the hot glue gun to subscribe the edges as I'm doing here with the bamboo skier also I don't want to burn my fingers because I don't tolerate heat very well as soon as you do that my supple show is done and this is our final result so as you can see it's amazing what a little bit of paint and glue and I guess some nail polish can get you so this is the final result and of course this is not the same this is not like the absolute way to to make Marcella shells it's just my way and I really hope you guys appreciated it and I definitely appreciate you watching the videos so again this is the final
