today I'm going to show you how to paint this little log count um it's got lovely shapes and everything's got no legs but we'll worry about that later so I've mixed the paint thinned it down for 50% paint 50% water so when you're painting because there's a lot of water in it you have to keep stirring every time you pop your brush in otherwise the chalk paint will go to the bottom and then you just start painting so for the first coat like I said it's 50% water 50% paint and I want to water it down that much so that it soaks right into the fabric and you just paint it on I will have to do two or three coats depending maybe only two coats with this because there's not a lot of pattern you know if you have it an old couch that's got lots of arm pattern in it I would always start with probably thread bail will have low bar like a and do a try and cover up the old embossing and but with this there's really not much texture it's just dirty and just colored and so then I'm going to let this dry and then when I do my next coat I'm going to add a bit more paint so probably 70/30 for the second coat and then keep stirring because the chalk goes to the bottom and the water stays out of the top you and so I've done two coats of watered down 50% paying 50% water on this so of this I've got a really good cupboard so I'm happy with the coverage with just two coats and so now I'm just going to lightly stand it and when I finished sanding it I'm just gonna vacuum up any dust before I wax it and the wax will seal the paint and it kind of feels like suede and you'll then be able to just wipe it off if you if you spill anything on it or you
