all right either fellow Genesis owners sure you guys recognize this this is the infamous flying H logo on the back of our new gen acai I guess that'll be the plural any a lot of us have been swapping this out with the Genesis winged badge that's typical in Korea and there still seem to be some confusion about how exactly this is done so I'm going to actually record me doing this and hopefully it'll make a little easier for the rest of you guys starting off we'll just cover some of the equipment materials I got here first off is the actual replacement badge and you'll notice that it actually says tail gate very important there's also a hood version of this it's a different size the the angle of the back is different so if you get the hood ornament and try to put it on the tailgate it won't sit properly and just create a lot of trouble for you also the the posts on the hood or larger in a different position so you'll actually have to you know it's all those off not just too much trouble so when you're ordering make sure tailgate assembly next up is this little guy here this is a piece of crafting wire that attached at both ends to a little wooden dowel I'm going to use this to actually cut underneath the the H there and try to break the adhesive and just for the record that this is a crafting wire that's actually plastic coated so hopefully it'll cut down on scratching and also I did try this with both six pound fishing line and dental floss neither which we're strong enough to handle the easy cutting operation so make sure you're using something fairly strong next up is googan I'll be using this to remove any residual adhesive after the the Flying H has gone according to the packaging it uses citrus power as opposed to acetone or benzene or anything nasty like that so hopefully I won't affect the the finish also have some vinegar based surface cleaner which I'll be using to degrease before I apply the new badge so let's get to it so we're going to start off I'm working our water over here gently fine a little pressure this is going kind of slow but it is cutting through the adhesive take your time you know going to scratch your paint a break you're flying edge this is where it's going to happen so when I was testing out the cutting materials earlier the Sun had been on the logo for quite a while on it that heated up the glue pretty nicely since then has come back behind a tree so I'm going to be used the old hairdryer trick to warm up the glue and see if I can get the cutting go a little faster yeah so two foot seconds with the hairdryer definitely made a difference making a lot more progress here the herder are definitely makes a difference works top the bottom sure goes most of the Bluetooth so there you go okay so next up just to get the Dustin some of the bigger chunks of glue off and use some of my surface cleaner on a soft cloth here my I've just got a few small little specks of glue left on here looks like I managed to not scratch it too badly it's just the blue so how comes you beyond abuses stuff in the past that balance best just to kind of saturate the cloth you're using please come on but it's so can oh wow that came right off okay do gone folks it's the way to go I went down second test it on those wings step back you're sick alright that looks pretty sharp I definitely want to apply some pressure on this because he sit on the back just barely catches the surface okay go ahead tape off solid push say 50 seconds all right Chris another 40 seconds looks like we get good adhesion looks pretty sure there you go folks whole thing I think took me what maybe ten minutes so it looks great easy to do have fun
