Please explain how to freshen up those stinky saddle pads

hi i'm lisa carter and today i want to to talk a little bit about what you can do to freshen up your tack especially in these transition days between winter and spring when your horses still have their winter coat and they're sweaty you know when you're riding they exert themselves just a little bit in the in the heat and you just end up with really stinky saddle pads so what I like to do is I'll get a glass spray bottle or I like to use class because some essential oils will break down plastic so I get these little glass spray bottles from abundant health for you and then I'll just I'll pick whichever oil I'm I want you to use a lot of times I'll use lavender for just the scent if I'm just trying to deodorize or I'll use lemon another one that is real good to use if you're trying to deter mold and mildew from building up on your tack would be melaleuca which is real good for that so you can use any essential that you want to use and fill your spray bottle with water and this is just the smallest as an eight ounce so what I've done is I've added about ten drops of lavender and and then I just shake it up and just spray tank and just make sure that if you're going to use something like lemon that you don't put the tack on your horse still wet and then put your horse out in the Sun because certain essential oils are photosensitive like lemon the citrus oils are photosensitive a lot of them so just make sure that you use caution make sure it's thoroughly dry before you put it on your horse so you don't have to worry about that photo sensitivity issue and that's it and I have a nice fresh snowing sound like it so um hopefully this has been helpful when have fun the spring enjoy the weather bye you
