Please explain how to make lemon poppy seed french crullers

thanks for joining me in the Catalan current kitchen today I'm gonna show you guys how to make an amazing dessert for Hanukkah these lemon poppy seeds fringe colors they're made with the same dough that cream puffs and eclairs are they're super simple and I love them for Hanukkah let's get started this dough starts off on the stovetop we start off by melting our butter along with the water milk sugar and salt as soon as that comes to a boil we're taking it off the heat and adding in the flour here's where it gets a little bit difficult this is an arm workout which is totally fine if you're just like me and you missed arm day at the gym you're gonna want to really stir that together put it back on the heat and bring it together into a thick cohesive dough really get in there with your spatula let it get smooth it'll take around two to three minutes when you start seeing a film at the bottom of your pot that's when you know your dough is done so I've got my dough I'm putting it in the mixer and I'm pushing it up the sides of the mixer bowl to give it more surface area to cool I'm gonna put eggs in next and I don't want those to scramble and when they hit the hot dough after I do that I am simply gonna take the bowl and put it in the fridge to cool for 10 minutes now what we're gonna get a little bit extra just kidding I'm sorry that was a terrible pun okay so my dough is fully cooled I am adding the eggs in and I'm gonna start that off on a medium speed in the mixer and whip that until everything comes together I'm scraping down the sides of the bowl to make sure that everything is perfectly incorporated and now I'm adding in my fresh lemon zest my poppy seeds and I am just going to whip that all together again whip it whip it real good we've got our silky smooth lemony dough and we're going to put that into the fridge to let it rest for 10 minutes before we fry it egg silly job everyone now it's time to pipe it up I took my dough out of the fridge and I am piping these in two rounds clearly I'm not using a piping bag which is what should be used for this but I made do with what I had my star shaped tip is a little bit smaller so I double pipe these but use a thick one and you'll be perfectly fine on to frying it's getting hot kids you notice I flip the colors in with the parchment paper it's actually deep fryer resistant you poke it off with a fork take it out with a pair of tongs and let the donuts keep frying I love using the deep fryer because it pretty much does all of the work for you it heats the oil to the perfect temperature and your food comes out perfectly cooked every time on the inside and the outside we sell this one at kennel encored it's super simple and safe to use your crawlers will puff up in the fryer and turn a beautiful golden brown and that's when they're done I'm just taking them out and putting them on a paper towel lined rag now I'm making the glaze it is super simple I'm combining my confectioner sugar my poppy seeds and my lemon juice and vanilla extract and I'm whisking that together until it becomes perfectly smooth with no lumps having a little bit of milk to loosen the consistency of the glaze whisking it again and at this point it is ready to use last step glazing just take a dot dip it in the icing use a spoon to help you get it all around you really want to cover that the glaze is delicious do not skimp turn it over you want to get all sides and then I'm putting these on a rack to let the excess clay strip off repeat for all of the donuts guys I really hope you saw that making donuts at home is not difficult this is super simple especially if you have a deep fryer if you make these I want to see pictures send them to kettle encored send them to my Instagram don't forget to follow send us pictures watch our videos I'd love to hear what you want to see next for me in the comments Happy Hanukkah
