so i've got my fried chicken all made up now i'm going to make a gravy now gravy is something which in america is very different to england and i'm going to be showing you how to make a milky chicken gravy which again i didn't even have until i was in america so i've got a cup of chicken stock a cup of milk a little bit of butter flour you're going to need and also some of the drippings from the oil that you've fried the chicken in that's just going to add a little extra flavor so i'm going to make this all in a frying pan or a saucepan put it on you're going to need about a tablespoon of butter a large chunk of butter going into the pan i'm going to put also a tablespoon of some of the drippings from the oil mix those together once that's melted i'm just going to add some plain flour so this is quite easy it's actually just like making a white sauce but with a bit of chicken stock two tablespoons of plain flour sprinkle on stir that together cook it out just a little bit now we can add the chicken stock so you just add it a bit at a time this is the stage where you have to keep stirring it now to make sure it doesn't form into lumps so you move quickly stir it make sure but you just keep adding the liquid a bit at a time until you get a nice smooth sauce now i'm going to add the milk okay so now you have a lovely quite a thick creamy sauce if you want it a bit thinner just add a little bit more stock or milk a little dash more and i'm going to add some black pepper to it so add seasoning i have a taste you can add some salt to it already but my chicken stock was quite strong so i don't think it will need more salt but basically that is how you make the gravy something that i've never been used to here in england but i'm actually quite loving now so there we have it how to make gravy to go with your fried chicken or whatever else you fancy all right let's serve up chicken put that on half these are some biscuits that i made we'll get the recipe up for those and of course you couldn't have it all without a bit of the white sauce on top oh yes this is definitely one of my favorite americans
