okay in this video i'm going to show you how to make this paper airplane as you can see this one does require a little bit of cutting i'm going to show you how to do all this without scissors and this is a pretty good flying airplane flies it's kind of a cross between a paper airplane and a glider kind of acts like a glider but flies like a plane okay here's how we make it we take a regular sheet of u.s printer paper and we're going to fold it in half lengthwise just like so put a good crease down there then we're going to open this up now what we're going to do is we're going to put this top edge along the right side using that corner as our pivot point okay so we're going to fold this down just like this get a good crease in there we're going to open this up we're going to do the same to the other side so this top side is going to come down the left side so i like to rotate that and line that up there we are and then we will open that now you'll notice we have this x pattern we're going to do is we're going to flip the paper over we need to put a crease along the center of this so we want our our crease our horizontal crease to cross right in the middle where all the other creases meet the way we're going to do that is we're going to fold this paper back we need these corners to line up with the corners where the x's are here the center crease to line up the center crease and sometimes it helps if you push down on the center letting the paper fold like this so that you can help find the center point where all the creases meet up so you can push those down line up the corners our crease lines up in the center there you can crease it across now if we flip the paper over push down on the center should all pop up now we're able to pull the centers in collapse the top giving us the standard paper airplane base okay at this point what we want to do is we want to take these corner flaps here and then fold them up to this top point so i'm going to take this this bottom edge will now line up on the center but i want to leave a little bit of space i don't want it to be right on the center so i'll back it off just a little bit do the same on this side okay and you see how i leave a little space in between not much that's got to be maybe an eighth of an inch maybe even less now what we're going to do is we're going to take these corners and then we're going to fold them down to the bottom so we're going to fold these triangles in half fold that down like that this one like so that should be pretty easy now what we're going to do is we're going to take this bottom part of the triangle where we got these all folded in then we take this bottom part we're going to fold this edge along the center crease again leaving a little space i don't want it right on the crease make sure you pull it back just a little bit the reason for this is we're going to fold this paper airplane in half in this direction and we don't want the paper to bind up so if we leave a little bit of space on both sides it'll fold up a little easier okay once we have this point we're going to take the top part and we're going to fold this in along that center crease so this edge along the center crease now we're just going to line this up with the one we had below okay do this on both sides okay you see how we just kind of line it up so all the edges run straight down okay what we're going to do is we're going to open this up and now we're going to reverse this so we're going to open this push this crease inside and then fold this back in so it makes the center okay this should come to a point i'll show you again over here so we're going to lift this flap we're going to take this fold fold it inward reversing that fold and then fold this down they should come to a point again just like so okay all right at this point what we're going to do is we're going to take this bottom part and we're going to take this bottom edge we're going to line it up with the bottom of this triangle here okay make sure we're even going to crease that down now what we need to do is we need to take it and we need to really crease it down so we're going to take our fingernails make like scissors and just crease that in do that on both sides then we're going to open this up flip the paper over fold it down then we're going to do it again this will make the paper easier to tear okay okay then what we're going to do is we're going to give it a little tear we're going to hold it down and we're going to tear this at an angle just like so and that should tear off pretty easy i'm going to put this off to the side for now what we're going to do here is we're going to flip this over then we're going to fold this back like so so what's going to happen is these are going to stay straight this nose is going to fold out forming a diamond like so and we'll make sure that this diamond this tip lines up with the center crease like so then we're going to fold this in half like so you can see our our wings line up pretty well so we know we did pretty good there then what we're going to do is we're going to fold this we're going to fold the wings down using the top of this diamond here is our crease point and we're going to fold it straight back we're going to keep this backside in line so we're going to fold it like this make sure our papers back here are all in a straight line and we'll crease that down give a little pinch grease up there we'll flip it over what we're going to do is the same thing we're going to fold that down line up our wings because it's important we have our wings lined up like so okay if we open it up see it's starting to look like our plane what we're going to do now is we're going to take this and right about at a half inch we're going to fold this up lining up the back side keep the back side lined up about a half like inch then we'll open that up and straighten those out okay for now now we're going to come back to this piece so what we're going to do with this piece is the piece we cut off we're going to fold this in half lengthwise just like so okay then what we're going to do is you take your better side if you didn't fold it perfect whatever your straighter side is and you're going to give it just a little tear about halfway only go halfway then you're going to fold this lower flap that we've torn we're going to fold that right to the bottom edge like that we're going to flip it over we'll do the same on this side put that right down to that edge then when we lift this we'll straighten these out because we want these to be flat and we're going to take this piece we're going to open that up and we're going to shove it right in there right underneath this upper flap here put it in there as far as it'll go close that down and there we go now to adjust it what we'll do is you know when you throw it it's going to open up so we want to kind of stretch out the wings so that they're flat as it's open not when it's closed when it's closed it may come up but when you let go and it's flying it'll be more open like so so that is the how you build this paper airplane i hope you enjoyed this see you for the next one
