Please explain how to dehydrate garlic

hey there today I'm gonna show you a few different ways that I work with garlic so that I can dehydrate it when you start with full bulbs of garlic break the bulb apart and put the individual unpeeled cloves into a pot with a lid hold the pot and the lid very securely and shake it really really hard and you'll end up with instant peeled garlic you may end up with a few stubborn clothes but it beats peeling each and every clove individually and you get a little cardio in the process can't beat that the other option is to simply purchase a large bag of pre peeled garlic but you want to prepare it the same day you buy it or at the very least buy the next day so that it doesn't start to smell sour I purchased this three pound bag from Costco this is a lot of garlic but it won't go to waste in my house now let's talk about slicing and dicing once the garlic is peeled you have a few options you can slice by hand or with a mandolin like this one just be sure to use the safety guard or you'll end up slicing your thumb like I did which is why I'm wearing this not so fashionable glove while a mandolin has its place in food prep I find it to be a little cumbersome with slicing garlic but do what works best for you of course the easiest way to slice your garlic is with the slicing blade on a food processor you can chop the garlic too for soups and even garlic powder which I'll cover in my next video on garlic next you'll spread the garlic out over your dehydrator trays and to hydrate the garlic according to your dehydrators directions you want to give the garlic some room on the trays but it doesn't have to be perfect either if you've chopped your garlic it will be much harder to spread it out but again don't worry too much here when the garlic is done dehydrating it will be slightly Brown and very dry empty the garlic into a jar or other storage container and if you're prepping this for a long term storage don't forget your oxygen pack and that's how I do high-grade garlic happy proofing
