Please explain how to assemble the spin bin tumbling composter

congratulations on the purchase of your new spin bin tumbling composter this video is going to show you how to quickly and easily assemble your composter so you can get to using it right away your box is gonna look something like this inside you're gonna have four panels two lids and a parts pack and then of course your instructions go ahead and open it up and take apart your parts and set them to the side because first you're going to put together your two halves it might be a little easier if you open up your nuts and bolts pack you're gonna find inside some screws and nuts most of them will be black and then you're going to have four silver screws and four silver nuts so go ahead and dump them inside the lid that'll help you keep them contained so they don't get lost really for assembly you're just going to need a screwdriver and maybe just a wrench like a crescent wrench in assembling your two halves take your two quarter panels put it next to one another get the screws holes lined up go ahead and get one of the black screws one of the black nuts to begin by inserting it into one of the holes thread on the nut and then go ahead and follow it all the way down on both sides so that when you're complete you have two halves connected together one quick tip when it's putting do the screws together you don't really something really necessary to have a wrench your fingers can kind of hold it and then go ahead and get your screwdriver and tighten it up as you hold that nut and you'll be surprised that you can get that incredibly tight without even the use of a ranch just a Phillips head screwdriver will work great alright now that you have your quarter panels put together and you have two halves go ahead and grab your u-shaped pieces this is going to form the axle in which the composter is going to rotate around so you just go ahead and put those together depress the little lock buttons it takes a little bit of work but you can fit that in there and that's going to snap together on your half you're gonna see a little notch that this is gonna rest on it's actually gonna sit down on there where that metal flat plate is and then what I want you to do is go ahead and just insert the screws up from the bottom you might want to hold those in place put your hand underneath there grab your other half and set it down on top and work those screws around and go ahead and put that half together go ahead and get your your nuts the silver ones now go ahead and put those in place once you have those secured and you don't really necessarily have to have them all the way down tight what I want you to do is start working around the edge and put the rest of the black screws equally just going back and forth or do three or four on each side work your way around do you get to the other side what that's going to do this is going to help form so that it lines up on the other side that way when you come to the other side of the central shaft the holes are going to line up and allow you to easily thread those silver screws back in there and put those nuts so once again start on one end go ahead and attach the the metal plate with that central shaft secure it with those bolts and then work your way equally around to the other side here's a quick tip as you're going around and threading in these these black screws and you find that maybe that's not lining up as well as you'd like go ahead and put one in and use your Phillips head screwdriver to push down on that as you're turning it and as those threads catch it's going to pull it down through the plastic then go ahead and grab one of those black nuts and do this on the other ones as well and just hold it up underneath there and turn your ear screw and as you're turning what you're going to find is it's going to catch on to that on to that nut and instead of finger tightening every one of these you know just a little easier sometimes to use that screwdriver and let the tool do the work and likewise when you get to this final silver screw on the other side and it's not lining up as well as you'd like go ahead and just use that screwdriver to start turning and as those threads catch it's going to pull it down and then just use your silver nut on the end tighten it up and you're all set all right now that you have your bin assembled and you've got your axle through and all the screws are tightened up go ahead and get your stand together with your pieces together and you've got you should have four elbows that do not have holes in them and then you're going to have two elbows that have holes in them and this is what your axle is going to go through then you're gonna have four longer rods that's going to be your legs and two shorter which are the dowels that hold the legs together so you should have a nut on the end of your axle if not it's in your parts bag go ahead and take that off and start by go ahead and getting the the elbow with the hole in it and go ahead and put it on either side and tighten up that nut at this point it's a good time to have your adjustable wrench crescent wrench and go ahead and tighten those bolts down you want to you know tighten them up fairly well and that way they don't slip off there is going to be a little bit of play in there and that's by design go ahead and get your other elbow with the hole in it take it over to the other side and screw that night go ahead and put that on go ahead and tighten it while you're here that way you don't forget about it all right once those are secure and tight wouldn't flip it up grab your longer one of the four longer dowels and insert it in there and really this is an important part Glidden and shove it in there fairly well and if you have a rubber mallet don't use a hammer go ahead and give it a few taps these are designed so that as you tap them the wedge forces it up inside there and is going to keep your stand together all right then go over to the other side insert your other leg and again if you have a mallet or tap it with your hand knock it a few times and I really try to force that up in there fairly well so that keeps your stand together okay so you've noticed that we've got this the elbow piece here with the hole in it with just one leg on one side and then lake on the other and this this top one is empty we don't have to lake in that yet so now what you want to do is get one of your shorter dowel pieces go ahead and put the elbow on either side give it a good snug fitting together and go ahead and insert it in and you may not even want to go all the way in because you're going to need to slip this in on the other side and it's easier if they're not all the way up and then just go ahead and begin to work them up and I really it's really important that you you give these a good tap again if you have a rubber mallet this is a good time to use it and then what you want to do is on your top portion here go ahead and insert your legs on either side give those a little bit of a tap and then get your dowel and another elbow put that together and then slide this on to the top portion and it may take a little bit of work a little bit tapping on either side and this is this is probably again I can't stress this enough a good time as you use a little bit of force and if you have that rubber mallet of some sort or wooden mallet you want to really give these good Stern tap on either side and this is the more you force those legs in the stronger your stand is going to be and keep it from coming apart because it has a wedge design again it's tapered so as you hit that or bump that and drive that leg into this elbow that gives it the strength and the ability to not come apart so basically now at this point you have your stand together you can go ahead and pull up the barrel flip it over grab one of your lids put your other lid on and your spin bin composters ready to go I've got your your legs on you've got you all the pieces together and you're ready to compost we really encourage you to get a great mix of both carbon and nitrogen items you want to lean a little heavier on your carbon you want to keep it lightly moistened like a well wrung out sponge and it's a great composter if you have any questions we'll put up an email address you can you can contact us if you have any questions about assembly rather straightforward you need to watch the video one more time go ahead and do that and enjoy your composter
