hey chief welcome to how to open things and pour stuff where we teach you to start taking care of your car and to stop being that guy lesson number one how to check your oil for real this time start by finding your dipstick i'm not even gonna make a joke about that it's sticking out of your engine and has a brightly colored handle well that's not it it's an excusable mistake unlike that shirt that is a loud shirt now find your real dipstick now pull it out you have to wipe it clean to get a good reading you could get a rag but let's be men and use your sock nice socks chief those come with an aarp membership once you've wiped it clean put the dipstick back where it goes now pull it out and you should be able to read it you see those hash marks on it you want to see oil on there but it shouldn't go past the hash marks some dipsticks will say full or max on them looks about right you're good to go you ever need to add oil it goes in the oil fill hole it'll be somewhere around the center of your engine go ahead and try taking it off lefty loosey just like your hair gel if you haven't added stp oil treatment now would be a good time it helps protect your engine from crud that could be floating around in your oil now you'll enjoy this part because gravity does all the work good job oh one more thing grab that oily sock rub some grease on your face chicks dig dirty dudes hey you're a loss stp don't be that guy you
