Please explain how to kerf birch!! special birch kerfing trick revealed!

guys Josh Wally schirra is not the box shop and Jade of the audio today I'm going to teach you to do a wood bending technique called kerfing what you essentially do is cut almost completely through the board just leaving a little bit of that last layer of the plywood or MDF whatever you may be using for your subwoofer enclosure you just make several relief cuts I like to do them on three-eighths inch centers also if you're using plywood like this birch right here you're going to want to use the grain perpendicular to your cuts if you're making your cuts parallel with the grain like I'm about to show you just here for my test piece then there's a lot more chances of it breaking is it's not going to be as strong as the grades not pulling it lengthwise together as you can see here it's not exactly one into bed very easily we're going to go ahead and take that saw blade just increase the depth slightly till we get that perfect Bend exactly where we want it we're on try that right there all right you can see that's already starting to bend much more friendly I'm starting to hear a little bit of cracking but uh that's just due to the cuts being the same way as the grain here you can see right here if you're making your cuts the same way as the grain when you start to bend it then there's a chance that it might just snap you can see it's starting to crack they're got it almost bad but I don't think I have enough cuts in there to make it Bend all the way you can also see light cracking it's been all the way to a 90 but I don't like all the cracking I see in there but we've got the depth set right for our actual piece what we're going to be curving for today is a single 10-inch si enclosure and enjoy guys now here's my actual piece now we've got the depth all set I've got my kerf areas of where I want to start an end already pre drawn out make another video here shortly to show you guys how to figure out the math for that but for now enjoy yourself so we've got our first set of kerf cut guys here she is there's a part one of our carport I'm just going to end up being a Kirk crazy so we're going to end up doing three full different Kirk's in this enclosure all right guys here we are going to go on to the second set of curves you you
