today on boat life it's take time now admittedly there's nothing any more beautiful than the teak wood on your boat unless it has been left alone for father time plus the elements to take their course and this is what you end up with but i think we have some answers for you today over the next several weeks in fact we will take a look at teak maintenance kit presented by boat life and we have the products all lined out for you now what we'll do first as with many of the boat life products is add a little water to this area then we're going to clean it with the teak brite powder cleaner or just spray this on and we'll put some water to this life scrub all never ever use a brillo pad the reason for that particles of the brillo pad can come out get engaged in the wood and over a short course of time you end up with rust then you'll be using some other products to clean that up so let's avoid that again this is the life scrub all from boat life now we'll hose that off and next we will use the teak brightener now this is a mixture it's 50 50. so for this demonstration purpose i'm going to add eight ounces of water then we'll add eight ounces of the teak brightener next we will take a sponge and soak that in the mixture that we've just created and rub that to the surface of the teak wood we'll let that sit for a few minutes after this solution has dried for about five minutes we'll apply just a little bit more with the sponge wiping the entire area then we'll hose this off we'll let that dry for 24 hours now it's time to finish up the job and really bring out the brightness of what was old decrepit awful looking teakwood we'll use teak oil and sealer from boat life and just apply this generously now should you inadvertently get any of this on the fiberglass clean it off immediately so if you have old tick wood on your boat don't give up on it turn the job over to boat life they've prepared this neat teak maintenance kit why well for the life of your boat
