play on Bob from paradise and this is your tip of the week this week we're going to talk about who is it's so many different types let's say is 150 something like that there's more I think and there would be a lot there undiscovered in the jungles of Asia and some in northern Australia but right through Asia is their main occurrence they'll take quite cold climates but some there's variation simple table or cold and in others and certainly that will take you when we advertise or where will usually say just how cold the climate will take that often there's not a lot known so you gotta experiment I'll show you a few here now if the one thing I should say about lawyers always put them in a course mix a bit like orchids keep them tight rooted and using of course mix I've showed you what course mixes a light that we use for 40 lines and for vermilion same sort of thing about 40 to 50 percent of 15 millimeter bark and the rest with normal potting mix that'll get your nice good drainage mistake a lot of people might make is to join over pot there where it's no mirrors we find a lot of plants some people will say all I'll put it in a great big pot and I'll have a great big plant but often with tropical plants that's just how you kill it by having two bigger pot just just pointed up one size and only in the warm wherever when I say one sizes go up a couple of centimeters each time you step look at this Hoyer here the tiny little pot this is the size plus we send them out in a three inch pot and we've had this one in it for years it's a this is a stock plant look how it's flaring away alright it's really tightly rooted look at the rich coming at the bottom here so and you can sit it's flaring that's a higher senior TSA ngwu and it's beautiful little flowers and you can see how it appreciates being really tight routed that's because who is rep you fights and heavy fights are plants that grow on trees and rocks and you can imagine how much water an epiphyte actually get so if you're put in a big pot and drown it with water with not much root system there to start off with drown it with water or you'll you'll kill it so you can leave it in the same pot we sent it in for a couple of years and when you put it up just go to the next size up it's a four inch pot and you can leave it in that for a long time to its most important point there worship will just show you a few lawyers unfortunately we're writing winter now so there's this one's got some remnant flowers on it but once we show you won't have any flowers at the moment this one one here it's called it's a Hoyer red Hoyer pubic Alex red and you can see this one we call silver scolari it's just the name that we use here after a racehorse it was a gray racehorse it's it's not a an approved name but it just describes it well that's a of the silver silver in it and you can see this color here see that brown we call those you get that brown bronzy color through them we call them shimmers different see the silver coming through there and so that's for your red very Hardy will take fairly cold country Cookman to cover although they will be blotchy of one we're just building our numbers back up of this one here it's a fishtail Hoyer for your poly Neera it gets beautiful style like flowers and a really nice drooping foliage as the other against the other one which was a real climber there's lots and lots of variation in audience if you thought they're all similar bills only one no it's lots of different when Paul's one here but this is a higher Shepherd Eye or longifolia Shepherd I see how it gets a long player gets fragrant sorry long leaves gets fragrant flowers and their little fluffy white and red ones it's a nice one too just as we're going past this is a lipstick plant oh it's John FS and you can just have been it's a ever RDI flaming crystals that that's an epiphyte - but it's not a we're so show you a few more lawyers this is one called shooting star we're just building your numbers up again at this one let them run down for a while and do it again gets a shooting so you can see where that one's flowered already see the little flower bud on the end there that's where this one flowered an important point we've Hoyer's is that when they flower the flower dies off in next year the flower will come from the same point again so this will grow a lot more of their that will flower from that same point again so she cut it off keep that in mind if you if you want it if you want to cut that off and take a cutting and lawyers are very easy to take cuttings from and put just put it into a little pot that'll that should just flower again in that same point so don't throw it away that's the that's the point about that one that's who you multiflora shooting star what else we got here many over here is one of my favorites I just you can see the veins on this one it's called poor you nickel Sony oi it's a big yellow flower yellow and white very unusual very attractive it's really probably wants the warmer climates to get down growth and in winter they just don't stay absolutely still don't do anything and nice foliage on that one as well okay young here we've got Hoyer burrata bit like a Valentine who a very thick leaf but it's around leaf whereas if you compare that with a Valentine earlier and what if he's one over here you can see it's got the heart shaped leaf so there's the two together different flowers all together this is a big round Flair this is this is a sort of a really I'm step thick and flair something interesting about this flower if you look you've got to pick if you often get a thick flower got a convoluted leaf like with the horrea car no sir oh don't worry no that's gone it'll come back in a minute anyway if you get one for the Compu later comes elated leaves it will get a really convoluted flower as well yes there's not one over is really quick flowering this one here hiya obscura it's a lot of yellow in the flower you can see where this one's had a flare get a couple of flowers there already and it's flower buds it's called Hoyer obscure very fast growing and pre flaring that would probably got about forty different different ones we've got them in different sheds yeah yeah I'm going to show you a couple of other plants as we're coming again that's an eclair Nina glow nama the silver flake throat and the under here for putting out vanilla rope it's great Flint grow them outside in more employments I grow up a palm tree something like that control of the graph and you'll get true vanilla beans out of it and that will also grow off a cutting but you could have a really the right mix for your mix or very coarse I'm flying back to that one so as we move back here to see if we passed Bologna or is in this year that he could show you here's one here that's called Big Mac Hoya McGill for AI gets a huge maroon flower we're just building our numbers up on this one again to after when we change the air sheds around we lost quite a few a lot of our numbers so it's building this one up again yeah but we have got it available for so it's probably one of the most popular high-end chicken you can get I think we've covered most of what we need to cover for today so until next time just remember that spells you can do it it's a little a little bit of concentration and knowledge you get your energy levels up you can you can do this and you can have plants exotic plants growing all over your property just remember there are websites wwp our plants calm and we're on YouTube our channel is power plants women and also get us on Facebook so we're just about everywhere except for instead of a one prohibition Twitter we're not on Twitter yet so until next time we'll say goodbye for now and thank you very much for listening and watching
